Arsenal vs Bayern (CL) 2-2

All I see in that clip is a guy in a regular jacket getting slapped. He was not even hitting back for punches to continue.

Spot on.

If they weren’t banned then I see no issue with him being there. Arsenal had plenty of fans in the Porto home end, wearing shirts and chanting…didn’t hear of any fists being thrown.

Skirting a uefa ban and then must’ve done something to identify himself as a Bayern fan, just stupid really. No sympathy but also ridiculous reaction at the same time.

I would like anyone not finding the physical contact wrong to get punched themselves while outnumbered. Big boys.

Violence is wrong unless committed against someone who doesn’t think violence is wrong. Ok.

I don’t think anyone has said they think the violence was ok. But the Bayern fans don’t deserve any sympathy.

What?

Will be pretty easy to identify and ban the gooners being violent.

Yes, you’re a bit of a fucking idiot if you infiltrate the home end as an away fan, and if I did that and then gave away my allegiances, I wouldn’t be surprised if I received this sort of reaction, but that doesn’t mean that it’s acceptable in any sense.

I can’t imagine a world in which I discover an away fan sat near me and decide to get a few licks in. It’s pathetic, cowardly behaviour.

What are you talking about?

It doesn’t surprise me you’re too thick to understand what I said.

It is. But again, I haven’t see anyone say it’s ok. @Calum said they “deserved it” which I don’t agree with but isn’t the same thing as endorsing them being punched to me. I’ve only seen it said that the Bayern fans don’t deserve any sympathy there.

We all get that the Bayern fan shouldn’t be there but that doesn’t justify violent behaviour.

Shout at the fan, call him names, say his mum’s a whore or whatever but once you get into the realm of justifying physical violence over a guy that likes the wrong soccer team in the wrong place then it’s hard to soundly justify it.

I was a doorman for years while I was at uni and I’ve met a lot of people like the guy being violent and they’re all big and tough until they have to be so against someone in a fair fight.

Wanna throw hands? Go down to a designated fighting gym and you can do it all you like (well, all you can since you might have to actually have a fair fight for once). Fuck out of here thinking smacking someone being escorted by a steward is somehow at al respectable or justifiable behaviour.

No, nor have I (though while we’re here, I do think saying it was “deserved” comes pretty fucking close to endorsing it). But I wasn’t specifically replying to anyone here, just giving my general perspective on the incident :+1:

Scored 2 goals from an XG of 1.4.

White missed our only clear cut opportunity.

The Scottish love a scrap tbf what do you expect cal to say

The biggest issue I saw for us was actually further down the pitch. Bayern did a good job of preventing us creating a glut of chances. Our CBs were constantly slinging the ball sideways because we couldn’t penetrate the midfield.

As @Aussiegooner said, the only real clear-cut chance we missed was the one White hit straight at Neuer, which wasn’t really a simple finish anyway.

For someone claiming to ignore my posts you surely like to respond to them :joy:

For someone who isn’t an Arsenal fan you sure like to hang around Arsenal message boards.

My issue with the violence is we’ve seen/heard shit spiral out of control and it’s best not to cross a threshold in which could make problems…well much worse.

And you’re the judge on who is and who isn’t an Arsenal fan? :joy::joy:

Look another post of mine you ignored. That’s how much it’s worth anything you claim on here

If I go into a stadium that has away fans banned and someone brings out a flag for the away team I wouldn’t personally go for them as I wouldn’t care tbh but you have to think in a stadium of 60k somebody might. Thats why I said it was deserved as not everyone will just ignore them.

What about if the fan gets hit in the back of the head and dies from it?

A lot of people don’t realise the danger of fighting in the streets/in non-designated places. One of my mates had a similar thing happen and had a brain hemorrhage and almost died.

Yeah, in the situation you describe, violence likely ensues but it’s certainly not justified.
