This Bayern team is less than the sum of its parts. Something is not quite right, whether that’s players more concerned with their next move and playing for themselves rather than the team, players who have stopped listening to Tuchel since he’s a dead man walking, or what. They have lost 4 of their last 8 league matches, which is unheard of for a Bayern team. They haven’t lost more than 5 league matches in an entire season since 2011-12.
I think its hard to go into “don’t give a fuck anymore” mode for two months as a squad and then revert to peak performance levels for a Champions League tie.
I’m not saying it won’t be a tough tie but I’ll be bitterly disappointed if we don’t advance. They are there for the taking.

As much as I am desperate for a CL trophy, I do think that getting past Bayern and facing Man City twice right in the middle of a title run-in will introduce chaos and anxiety. Ultimately I think it damages our PL challenge.
Ofc we have to first beat Bayern which is no small feat. They have the pedigree and it’s their last chance for a trophy. Kane will be mega motivated too.
Starting to get really excited about the game now. It’s a glamour tie and it is what this competition is all about. I back our team to beat absolutely anybody at home. We are capable of it. We’ve already beaten the other 2 best teams in the league this season. Bayern aren’t City so we should go into the game with belief.

One more thing.
Once you turn off, it is not like you say “okay we are on now” and can switch it back to fighting mode.
It is not just one or two players turning off, basically it is the whole team turning off for this season.

I’m really not aware of how Bayern play nowadays but I think Mikel will set out to play on the offensive from the start and try to pillage them early. Get a big advantage early on and okay a professional game in Munich.

I have a hesitant feeling but overall I think we can beat any team in the world right now, so coupled with the occasion, the opposition, the stakes involved, we’re going to be on it tomorrow night.

That’s what I would like to see. I think we can get after them but I’d rather play Tomiyasu than give them Zinchenko to target. I don’t like the matchup between him and anybody Bayern might play on the right, whether that’s Sane, Coman, or Gnabry.

Porto were second to us in allowing chances against them.
It was always going to be a cagey game. Bayern definitely don’t play like that.
