It’s never really bothered me, but I can see where you’re coming from.
Overall think it’s a decent scoreboard graphic. The green bg color really makes the score stand out. I think if the lion overlapped the green, it would make the image a bit cluttered.
It’s a tough one as I’ve always learned it’s “against the rules” to clip a brand logo like that. But ah well
