Arsenal transfers 25/26

There is no evidence suggesting the opposite either.
When we got Cedric initially it was reported it would end up being a permanent deal anyway.
We didn’t just loan him.
It was shady deal to begin with, the guy was on his last 6 months and we loaned him. Southampton could have let him go for free.
I remember there were fees involved as well. No wonder Raul fucked off soon after.

The evidence is Arteta was the coach and Edu the TD when they were signed.

If you think Arteta/Edu had no say in the signings of Cedric or Mari then we’ll have to agree to disagree

People can put as much fake blame on Raul but his job was never talent ID.

Tbh, I can’t say anything with real confidence on the Cedric and Mari deals. They were very odd moves, shady processes, shady fees, players signed on while injured.
I guess we may hear more on them in the future or the club and those involved buried the evidence deep underground.

I think last summer is proof of that.

United’s summer looked amazing on paper.

Exactly this is a dated argument. Charlie Nichloas choosing the bright lights of London in the 80s over Manchester and Liverpool is totally different to 2022.
Two best teams in Europe right now are in the NW of England.
How many top players have we lost to both Manchester clubs from here.
Most players aren’t choosing the clubs they play for as there future home anyway.

Until you saw that midfield…

Chelsea probably a better example. Everyone and their mother thought a top striker would complete them. People had them as favourites for the PL, Lukaku as the top scorer.

Have we signed Marquinhos yet?

i think so

Yeah and by Friday I think he’ll be settled enough for someone to start calling him “deadwood”

I want to argue with you… but you’re right.

Edit: Also, a little surprised at the lack of fanfare over this.

Agreed not even a thread in the Rumour Mill about him

Wtf we have signed Marquinhos?!

Yeah, Saliba going the other way.

What about Kolding though?

It may not hurt financially but sure hurts when we have to rely on lesser quality throughout the season.

Sure, but its all relative. You can fuck up with Pablo Mari or Runarrson, lose a little money, get some crap performances, and then banish them on loan somewhere and forget about them. Not great at all but not a club killer.

You fuck up with Pepe and Lacazette and you are hosed for years. Its a huge opportunity cost not to have spent that money on other players and those guys by virtue of their price and wages basically have to be given chance after chance, clogging up the roster.

It’s like homicide versus jaywalking.

Big reason why I don’t want the club forcing big moves they aren’t sure about.
We don’t have the capacity to fuck those moves up like City.

Better yet, Randers

@Stroller would say this is proof the deal is corrupt. Break out your deerstalker hat and magnifying glass! Time to investigate!

We await the response. Not all the dodgy side of this is on the club.
Over to Billy the quid.
