Arsenal transfers 25/26

Provided we bring back Saliba and the rest of our loanees go away permanently (and the out of contract players don’t extend) we need to sign 2 CMs and 2 forwards in the summer. We should also be looking at a RB and probably another CB if we are in Europe. And if Leno leaves, a decent backup GK.

So 4 players minimum but really we could do with 7.

And 2 of those signings (CM and CF) need to be of game changing quality.

The club aced the recruitment last summer but its a hugely optimistic ask for us to nail it again. Just don’t know what to expect.

Irrespective, I just feel so deflated that we are seemingly going to spoil a great opportunity for top 4 this season because of this very specific transfer strategy we have.

I dont see us signing two forwards. The cost of that alone is enormous. Don’t be surprised next season Balogun is our back up option…or a Lacazette extension…

why is it…he stunk up the place on purpose, those open goals missed with those big smirks the general pissing about costing us points. I guarantee you that all of a sudden he will be playing with spark at barca, funny that! Also wasnt this exactly what dortmund fans were telling us about as regards him but it was taken as ‘saltiness’ he is a horrible character.

There is such thing as being professional, even if he wanted to move on he could still be a good character for the youth players and be a general decent person.

Yeah he’s clearly a bit of a cunt.

Only downside is him getting the dream move that Barca couldn’t afford when we gave him his ‘legend’ contract. He wanted to go there then and now gets to because he was unprofessional, great sign to future players that.

Anyway, glad he’s gone. Just a shame we didn’t bring in a striker or midfielder on January 1.

That’s enough internet for today for me

Honestly Jovic would of been just a bit of hope. That was surely worth a loan punt.
The alternative now is nothing. Absolutely horrible situation too leave ourselves in.

Mate at the start of the month you literally threw me a thesis on why Lacazette was a god and didn’t actually need to score goals.

well you didn’t read it, so your takeaway is wrong lol

I’m all in on team Laca now bro, he might only score us 4 goals in open play but they’ll be important goals they’ll carry us to top 4.

I’m not even being snarky I genuinely like Lacazette as a person, his lack of athleticism just makes me cry sometimes when I watch him

We’re fucked. Season’s over. As always, Arsenal’s failure to achieve success in the last 15 years is down to nothing but their own inadequacies and lackadaisical approach to business.

Well at least there’s Amazon’s all-or-nothing to look forward to, that is going to be an excellent watch.

Zero chance of achieving top 4, Edu and Arteta need to be fired. We have a team that’s repeating the form of the first 3rd of the season, scoring little to no goals, no creativity, no hope.

it’s the only team you’ve got left

I agree next summer is absolutely critical but don’t think its quite such a big ask. Two forwards and a CM are absolute necessities. If Saliba returns he’ll make four CBs and Tomi has a lot of experience at the position if absolutely necessary, so that should be fine. We already have the backup GK in place in Turner. Cedric is a shit backup RB but you can live with that, especially since both White and Saliba could potentially play there too.

So its really a top class CF, a backup CF (or maybe a guy who can just play across the line), and a top class CM. And we’ve been freeing up a ton of space on the wage bill plus will get some fees from a few players (Torreira for sure, AMN if he does well, something for Leno, something nominal for Bellerin hopefully) to help with the cost.

This summer will make or break the whole project IMO but its doable and if we get it right then we’ll have the best team we’ve had in a very long time.

Can’t believe we didn’t sign anyone.

The process worries me.

Curious to see if the Kroenkes will allow Assteta to spend 200m + in back to back summers. Never seen it happen at the club before, especially while not selling anyone for a profit either. Hope we can Crack 65 points with a half a billion spend

We used to be a selling club, now we’re a giving players away for free club.

I hope the club now begins to work on transfers for the summer. I’d be looking to get Sam Johnstone, Kessie and Origi sorted on free transfers in the coming weeks. Two to provide backup while Kessie might be a difficult one to sign but he’d arguably be first teamer.

Then we could look to spend big in a couple of positions.

All that money we’ve saved in wages, though  should go some way to giving Elneny a pay rise.

The Arsenal transfer window.

Not so much a window, more a trap door.
