But as we get back to normal the big trend we see is money and talent basically flowing into the PL from elsewhere and the biggest PL clubs engaged in a massive arms race. I think when the window shuts weāll see that City, Chelsea, United, Liverpool are four of the top six sides in the world in terms of squad talent (along with Bayern and PSG).
Even if we have a good window (which we might not) weāre just not keeping up with that level.
Realistically, the best we can do is try to consolidate a position as the next-best club in England, to lay a foundation of young players, and then hope to take advantage if one of them stumbles this year or next.
