Arsenal transfers 25/26

Don’t shoot the messenger. :raised_hands:

Yeah that athletic article implies his staff is full of young yes men and Arteta snubbed experienced coaches

Not my ideal window but I am intrigued.
I’m extremely interested find out who we’re looking at LB and RCB.
RCB has potential to be a marquee signing. Someone like Diego Carlos sounds about right. Like for like replacement for Luiz. Both batshit crazy CBs that are great on the ball. Diego Carlos is just a younger version.

I don’t think after this horrible season that the transfer window will please too many. I think it be a few smart buys, maybe another loan or two and maybe one eye catching signing to appease the fans who play to much FIFA. It’s one of those transfer windows that you need the squad to hit the ground running and for most of the signings to end up been some of our best players by the end of the season. No more silly Willian deals or any more ex Chelsea players on a retirement run. A bad start and few dodgy results and I think with a fanbase already on the edge will be out for Arteta. Important he gets his side of to great start.

Especially with Utd, City, Chelsea, Liverpool even Evertons/Spurs/Leicester doing big business probably. I’m sure a lot of fans won’t be pleased but it’s one of those that has to be done, that’s why I rather we just had the league and cups to deal with this season and no Europe Conference stuff.

Well this is an acknowledgement and hopefully a start towards a needed change in approach.

Let me get this right, Football London were talking up a big investment in the summer and having a big budget after player sales but today they’re saying we’ve got restricted budget.
Yeah, these guys are certainly losing credibility fast.

Changing narrative every day or so.

I think that is the sort of window we’ll be looking although it’s pretty underwhelming.

As much as we need a marquee signing to lift the team and the supporters, players like Grealish are unrealistic, especially as he is more likely to go to Man City.

We already have Ryan and OIdegaard on loan so they won’t be strengthening.
Aarons is decent but will have to step up from the Championship
Berge is not much better than what we have and, unless we sell Lacazette, i can’t see us buying another striker.

We finished this season mid table so, if we have a window like that and still have Arteta next season, why would we finish any higher?

Just keeping players we already have on loan and buying a few barely decent Championship players is not the way a top European club should act.

After this season of dross, the board need to show the supporters some ambition and not clueless, cheapskate owners.
So, if they’re going to persist with the worst manager we’ve had, they need at least a big signing and I don’t mean big money, we need a proven top level player who’ll give the club a lift.

Yeah, I think RCB might be a marquee signing but overall it’s not really an exciting window given what people expected.

Having said that, the squad and specifically the starting lineup does change a lot. I think we get clearer idea of what Arteta wants to do.

He wants offensive minded players all over the pitch.
Keeper and centre backs that are great on the ball, attacking full backs that can combine well with wingers, mobile and strong midfielders that can carry the ball and wingers that can cut in and join Auba in and around the box.

He certainly doesn’t have many excuses after this. Get the profiles he wants and a preseason to work with players. Miss out on Europe and he has more time to prep every week as well.

I love you GC but this is completely off, what are you basing this assumption off? The last 18 months would suggest he wants the complete opposite of this, his tactics are very very conservative even against much weaker teams and any offensive minded player who has played has been drilled to just pass side ways now!

If our marquee signing is a CB, Arteta better get off to a good start next season, otherwise he will be under a lot of pressure, especially if we struggle to score like we have done.
It depends on if the board really think he is the right manager or they are going the cheap route and are happy to drift along just above mid table.

I think being in the EL, although it means a lot of matches, is useful for the fringe players to get games they they probably won’t do in the PL.

From who he wants to sign.
I think we’ll still see conservative tactics but our transition from defence to attack should become smoother.

I think the lineup will look like this:

GK: Raya
RB: Aarons
RCB: New RCB(someone experienced that can play with the ball, essentially slightly younger version of Luiz)
LCB: Gabriel
LB: Tierney
RCM: Berge
LCM: Partey
RAM: Saka
CAM: Odegaard
LAM: ESR
ST: Aubameyang

Gonna watch it now. Gonna be cringey but let’s see if there is good information in there.

would love us to go after this guy, reminds me a bit of cesc his vision and how relaxed he is on the ball has some really good passes on him.

Bro I said the same thing like a week ago, turns out @YJYUX been saying it for a while. The way he passes the ball (his technique) and his vision is incredible. Good height and looks physical enough to do well in the premier league, would of thought Edu would be all over this guy!

yeah i remember you mentioning this guy and i only just recently looked at him…looks a very good talent. Knowing our luck though we wont pounce on him whilst the going is good but will wait and someone else picks him up for peanuts and he becomes a key player and wouldnt be budged from that club for anything but a small fortune it seems to be how we do business.

So Grealish will cost 90m Euros and we’re paying 50m tops for a CAM and we want 30-35m for Willock.

Turkish joining in late, the guy thinks Edu Hagn is a an actual journalist and put him on the same level as Fabrizio.
And of course he kept banging on the drum about Kroenke. That’s all he does.
You have Fabrizio and the whole lot there is wasting his time crying to him about Arsenal’s season and Kroenke. I can accept 1-2 questions that relate to it and transfees but they’ve asked 5-10 questions like that. :man_facepalming:
