Arsenal transfers 25/26

No players gone and by the looks of it, no players soon to arrive.

Maybe waiting for a late bargain option when the window is about to close?

But to where

He doesn’t look very ā€˜ā€˜yay’’ to me

Probably knows he’s driving to sign a new contract with Atleti and will crush the hearts of Arsenal fans globally.

Our transfer strategy in one sentence. :grinning:

The whole Atletico things smacks of Arsenal getting played as fools in the market.

Atletico want Torreira on a cheap loan with no obligation to buy all while insisting they won’t negotiate the release clause down.

I think Partey is a good player but I’m still feeling a little burned from the Pepe deal and a lot burned from the Ozil deal. I do worry about him playing in a new system and I wonder how much Raul had to do with identifying this player. But I was wrong about Willian (so far) and would be thrilled to be wrong about this too.

Maybe I’m just biased and would rather see a more creative guy come in. :santi:

If creative is all we sign then that West Ham slugfest we just saw will become a weekly occurrence. We need an imposing midfielder with enough technical quality in the ranks.

Has there ever been any actual evidence that Mi Atleti had any intention of letting Partey go?

He’s their 4th most used player, he’s at a good age, he has a long contract, he has stats people love to rave about and he is supposedly so good that he’s a wet dream signing for a club with CL ambitions.

Maybe pay the release clause just means fuck off our player?

Well that’s fine, but they shouldn’t then expect to be able to sign Torreria on loan with an option to buy for peanuts.

We should only let him go as a transfer or obligation to buy, and for a decent fee. And if we do that, we’d probably have the money for Partey’s release clause anyway whether they want to do it as a swap deal or not.

Our transfer strategy has been excellent.

We’ve got a big and talented squad as ever and are still looking to add good options.

We aren’t in the Gazidis and Dick Law era anymore. Cheer up.

Great question. That’s why I’ve been so skeptical of the transfer from the jump. Why would Atletico want to sell him? The answer is that they don’t want to sell and are playing games with Arsenal over the Torreira transfer.

It’s just a guess but maybe Atletico are wary of Arsenal paying the clause and as a result are dragging their feet on the Torreira deal to prevent us from taking a player they want to keep.

Then there’s the player side. He’d go from UCL football to EL football and a rebuild during the prime of his career. Maybe he’s intrigued by Arteta’s project but idk.

7 more days to get our business done.

I’m predicting we’ll complete 6 deals in total (ins and outs) in that time.

I want it to be over, so all these fraudulent ITK’s can piss off back into whatever hole they crawled out of.

It would be amazing if we managed to do that! Going to be a busy week!

That would be a very good window, especially if the two players coming in were both first team quality and we certainly need to see at least four or five leaving.

But, realistically, I can only see one decent player coming in, possibly Aouar, and a couple leaving.
It looks like Torreira might be sold and then hopefully some of the high earning, low performing CB’s we have in our collection.

OHHHH MMYYYYYY DAAYYYYYYSSSSS
