What in the bloody fk–he just hops side ways and watches the players just pass in between him.
Shame on you, how could you forget Luzhny and Stepanovs
I’m beginning to think that a lot of business will get done in the last two weeks of the window. Clubs have unusually big incentives to drag their heels because they’ll gain more clarity on whether fans will be returning to stadiums in October (huge impact on finances) and also they can see how this highly unusual market develops. Some clubs may end up in desperate straights and hold fire sales (a la Valencia). Other clubs claiming no Covid discount may have to relent. Many clubs are in the position of needing to sell before they can buy, so there can be a big domino effect. It all just adds up to not a lot happening before the start of the season.
The most important thing is to think long term about who we want to sell and buy this window. But we also need a short term plan for the first couple fixtures because the slow pace of business plus the two week quarantine requirement is going to make it very very hard for us to get players in to help in those fixtures. Attack and defense should be fine but it means our midfield is going to be seriously makeshift - some combination of Xhaka, Torreira, and Elneny - and it probably means three at the back for most of September.
every youtube video in the world 2020: “now if you like this shit don’t forget to press like and subscribe”
Elneny and Willock are championship level midfielders, if they’re part of our plans to begin the season I’m getting really concerned.
The lack of control and creativity in that midfield would be criminal
Agree when it comes to Elneny…I think Willock had a decent season last year and made some good performances for us…would sooner give him a proper chance to establish himself rather than persist with players that have had their chance and not taken it!
I’d rather ESR get the Willock minutes.
They are two different players though…Willock can play a bit deeper, but would see ESR either on the left of midfield, as an attacking midfielder, or as a No.10…I hope both of them will get a chance this season but need some steel in the midfield to bolster our options. Elneny isn’t the answer!
I wonder, with City going all out for Messi. Does that leave us as the only remaining club looking to sign Aouar?
Pirlo wants Bellerin but the asking price is thought to be €30m+ (possibly too steep for Juve) and so the alternative would be Dest of Ajax. Price tag thought to be €20m-€25m.
Bellerin didn’t play in the friendly did he? So AMN was linked but we rebuffed Wolves and he played. Juve interested in Bellerin and we are willing to sell, and also held vegan boy out of the friendly? Hmmm
As average as I think Hector is, we really should keep him unless its a ludicrous bid. There are not any good full backs available to a club like us, and hes also an Arsenal lad and does alot for the fans.
Keep AMN, sell Hector
But is AMN happy to play RB long term for us?
Not sure but he seemed so after his last comment on the matter, maybe he bought in after the FA cup win?
Wasn’t the Wolves interest based on the idea he’d be replacing Doherty?
At this rate we’re not selling anyone, all I can see is loan deals.
Am genuinely more worried about us getting rid of our dross than signing some players.
I love the way Vinai in his interview said that Arsenal nneds to improve communication with the fans. It’s more silent at the moment than a library in space.
