Not sure but it looks like the Sylvinho experiment didnât work. 11 Games, 3W 4D 4L before getting sacked in October. As we know with Emery-Ljungberg-Arteta transition, itâs hard to fix a league season you fucked up right out the gates.

They started off shaky after having sold Ndombele, Fekir and Mendy and Sylvinho was basically Lyonâs Ole at the wheel, but steadied the ship with Garcia a bit into the season.
Then due to 'rona they ended Ligue 1 with 10 games left to go and Lyon had already played Lille and PSG twice and had an alright run-in, they had a good chance to make up the difference and even get CL not to mention EL, but they just shut the league down, awarded PSG the win etc.
Because of this Lyon threatened to sue Ligue 1 and I even thought they did a month or so later maybe, but I havenât read anything about it in a while so maybe not after all.

I wasnât hugely impressed with Upamecano. Seemed to get beaten in the air quite easily.

Iâm not sure if he had a meh game or if expectations were unrealistically high because of how well he performed in the quarterfinal but Iâm with you there. There were a lot of BL people on Twitter talking a lot of shit pre-match about how heâd be exposed against PSG. Idk if it was quite that bad, but he definitely struggled more than he did dealing with the expired corpse of Diego Costa.

Upamecano has said he would want to go to a team who would give him first team football and where he could develop. Reports say we had a clear interest last summer and he wanted to join us, but we thought the release clause was too expensive. Not sure Real or Barca or Bayern would give him the time or support to developâŠand we are plenty sexy to attract good players.
As for Aouar, why would City want him? They donât need him and they wouldnât have the room for him in their squad. de Bruyne, Sterling, Mahrez, Foden, Silva, and they have signed Torres. Foden is expected to be given a bigger role in the team after Silva has departed. Aouar would get limited game time whereas he would want to be a starter.
