Arsenal transfers 25/26

I think by year 3 most people will realise why so many other top clubs drew a line over the length of the deal.

If he’s decent for the first 2 years, then I’ll be fine with that. Would hopefully look to phase him out by year 3 anyway.

Ornstein mentioned other clubs offered much better deals in terms of wages. Wonder if we’ll reward him with bonuses and other clauses.

You’d hope that in year 2 he isn’t a factor anymore because Saka and/or Martinelli will develop into proper players…

I think he’ll have a significant role to play next season and then a mixed role in year 2. By year 3 maybe more of a Rosicky role towards the end of his career - good solid performances is small patches.

Varying reports here. The Express reported 150k 2 year deal with an option to extend after that. It seems unlikely he’d agree to a paycut but maybe he has

With this kind of thinking it’s easy to see why Arsenal does such a terrible job on contracts and shifting players. We should have stuck to 2 years like every other club interested, the ā€œappealā€ of Arteta’s project should have enough to convince him to come on those terms.

If you’re going to give him medium term security on a 3 yr contract it think the basic should be alot lower maybe closer to 60k - 70k with a heavily incentivised contract.

He’ll fit Arteta’s plans nicely.

I’ve heard almost nothing so far this window about any team and Aouar, which seems odd given that he was highly regarded, Lyon are without European football and likely amenable to selling, and the prices I’ve seen thrown around (~45-50M) are not that high.

They play different positions and have different skill sets but if we’re going to spend 40-50M on a midfielder I think I’d take Aouar over Partey.

Lyon are still in the CL and Aulas is a pain in the ass to negotiate with.

We’ll probably start hearing more about Lyon players possibly moving once they drop out of CL.

Someone mentioned the lack of interest in Lyon’s players.
Well, you’ve been heard.

It makes sense that nobody is approaching Lyon until after the Juventus game. People will hope Juventus win because it leaves Lyon desperate to raise money you’d imagine.

Who do you like from that team? Specifically, who would you like here?

I don’t follow anywhere near enough french football to comment but off head I’d love Depay and based off what I read Aouar too.

I’d love Aouar. He’s quality.

I would say 40-60m.
