Arsenal transfers 25/26

Couldn’t be any further from the truth lol. I don’t think he’s had a stellar season but he has always been a good player.

I don’t want to sign him, but he never has been mediocre.

I think the Willian deal sounds good. Experienced player who has a couple of seasons in him. Given the current situation, we’re definitely gonna have to make them most of Eddie, Saka, Nelson, Willock, ESR and Martinelli. Getting a big time talent in right now just doesn’t make sense.

This is him just this season, apparently at his worst. Still beating players for fun. Has a wicked right foot and pace to burn.

Would be a welcome addition. Not sure what you guys are expecting from Arsenal these days as a solid EL outfit.

Avoid at all costs. We have to bring in players with a hunger and a determination to prove themselves. Willian is looking for high wages on a long term deal, that won’t translate to consistent performances imo. I don’t think what he can offer much at 32 will be worth what he’s asking

Sick and tired of taking players Chelsea have no issue seeing back of, it’s beta move from Arsenal that hasn’t produce sustained success in the past.

We need to invest in younger talent.

I wouldn’t go as far as saying “expect”, but what I hope to see is an end to us taking on players who are surplus to requirements from teams who were once rivals of ours.

Being in the Europa League feels like an even better reason not to burden ourselves with another past his best player on big wages and inevitably a long term contract. Mkhitaryan is still on our books ffs, it’s not like we lack for examples of where this kind of strategy has taken us (not to say I don’t think Willian is better than Mkhi).

Like @sevchenko, I’d like to see us investing our money and time in players who are coming up and may have a long term future at the club, or might actually be worth some money if we try to sell them, rather than continuing to be a retirement home for past their best players like a wealthier West Ham.

Should it matter where our players come from as long as they improve the team though?

I do think we should be buying players that can improve and sell for treble the money down the line, don’t get me wrong. But we should also be improving the team whenever the opportunity rises (as we are not in a position to be picky) and I genuinely think Willian would walk into our team.

We could be losing one of or both of Lacazette and Auba so I don’t see anything wrong with adding another experienced attacker such as Willian. We have a good mix of experience of youth but if we are going to push for CL places we need a tad more experience IMO.

I just think he’s going to end up being another old player on a big wage who no longer provides value for money and then can’t be shifted because of the money they’re on.

I’d be OK signing Chelsea players if they were first teamers who Chelsea wanted to keep, so you are right, what’s most important isn’t which club they are signed from.

I can’t see us spending money on this position unless we shift Lacazette or Aubameyang for money.

This summer we will be poverty FC.

Martinelli, Saka, Nelson and Pepe (although 25) adding a experienced player to that mix shouldn’t hurt.

We’ve been doing it for so long now though, it’s basically Arsenal tradition.

Silvestre, Gallas, Cech, Luiz. I’ve probably missed some haha

Welbeck, Mkhitaryan and Benayoun. For fucks sake I hope this were them all.

I think Gallas btw could have done a job here if he wasn’t such a clown mentally.

I thought Upamecano had already signed with Bayern?

Nobody has signed for anyone, we are all just being led round the bend by news aggregators who have nothing better to do than propagate useless rumours by unreliable people.

If we’ve signed pre-contracts with Ryan Fraser and Willian I think I might skip the next few seasons. :gabriel:

With less income because of the Rona, no Champions League. I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed in the summer additions.

I think most clubs will be in the same boat. Mesut’s agent stated there will be hardly any transfers, but instead loads of loan deals and possible swap deals.

I’d expect deals that have become common in Italy. Basically what we are doing with Mari. I do think there will be movement.

I think our business will be Partey, Willian, Fraser and a defender.

Maybe a striker if we sell one.

Then look to recoup a bit of money through sales.

Given the circumstances I think that would be a decent window.

Ornstein said on his podcast last week we wil probably sign Mari for 10M as Arteta likes him as option for LCB
