You guys will get Gyokeres, Eze and Madueke…
I think Madueke only comes in if Nwaneri leaves
You guys huh, so you are not an Arsenal fan
If both were possible and willing to join, it would be some bizarre shit to pay 50 for Madueke as opposed to 80 for Rodrygo.
I also believe Martinelli and Gordon is a wash @Darkseid
Eze has that wing/AM flexibility…But I take it the poll is for the wing, and Rodrygo is the better winger.
I’m going to unashamedly repeat my wishlist post here. Suggest Asensio as the ‘3rd attacking option’.
He was great for Aston Villa when he was on loan, although it seems Arteta wants Rodrygo who’s younger or Eze who has plenty of experience in the PL.
But if we can get him for around 20m, he would be useful as versatile attacking player, who has played at the top level.
Myself and @Flexo not being contrarians for contrarian sake is the only surprise here.
That’s indeed some shithousery, i kinda respect it but he needs to put a case out, even if it’s a bit delusional.
Funny
If we do go ahead with Gyokeres, Eze and Madueke, on top of Zubimendi and Norgaard, we’re seriously stockpiling on various profiles in the team.
From a tactical standpoint you can go so many different routes. If fitness allows it, we may see the team look the most flexible it’s been under Arteta.
Arteta: ‘It’s going to be slow and boring and you’ll like it’
Those set pieces are gonna be even nastier, I’m telling you.
It’s gone under the radar but Norgaard’s another set piece psychopath.
Pretty positive he’s been involved in all the set pieces we’ve conceded against Brentford, and we’ve conceded many against them, even that offside one they forgot to draw the lines for.
I bet you they’ll figure out a way to make Gyokeres a threat in them too.
First Zubi, then Norgaard next week. Love it. Wanna see a new signing announcement every fucking week!
Our attacking play will improve and speed up if we have Zubimendi, Odegaard, Saka and Eze (if he comes) on the pitch at the same time. If one of Havertz or Merino (or worse both) is going to play with three of them, agreed. Either one of those two will slow us down.
Hopefully Odegaard will be able to stay further up the pitch instead of receiving the ball so deep and fidget spinning into oblivion like Ceballos used to do
That is where Zubimendi comes in.
It’s going to be essential Zubimendi, Eze, Odegaard and Saka will play together.
Getting worried that we end up blowing like 180m this summer on attackers without bringing in a truly elite level raiser or player with that potential.
Wirtz, Rodrygo, Sesko, Cherki, Nico, and Ekitike are arguably the players in that category on the market this summer and we seem determined to sign guys who are cheaper or who have a higher floor but lower ceiling.
It feels like prioritizing the chase for a trophy next year at the expense of making sure we have the foundations to be capable of winning the big trophies for the next 4-5 years.
I don’t love it and this could be where going from Edu to Berta is not so great.
Our last signing from Porto hasn’t worked out. Hopefully this won’t be Mora the same.
