Arsenal transfers 25/26

We may need to look at bringing in a couple this window…maybe one permanent deal and a couple of loans. Any movement with Olmo?

Didn’t they manage to register him? It’s still a whole fiasco though. I doubt we’re getting involved in that.

9 point gap if scousers win the game in hand. I just don’t have the confidence that we put together a run that allows us to make up that gap. I’d prefer a down season rather than risking Saka having issues for multiple seasons.

If we make the right signings in the summer, we will be in the mix again.

Dunno, I haven’t read anything…we may not be able to ignore loan options like this.

See, my concern isn’t the PL at this point. It’s a place in the CL next season.
Don’t want rely on luck keeping whoever forward we’ve got left fit, if we’re counting Jesus and Saka out for the season.

Pick: Williams
Expectation: Cunha/Mbeumo

They may end up costing more in terms of a total fee but could negotiate a favourable structure, I expect both to be keen on the move if it was on the table, and I think both would sign for reasonable wages that won’t cause issues. You could also justify these moves as essentially the long-term replacements of Jesus and Trossard as that extra versatile attacker.

Mbeumo seems the easier deal of the two to pull off with Brentford being far enough away from the relegation scrap.

Based on our options now, it’d be a miracle or tactical mastery from Arteta if we finished 3rd or above.

So many key men are out with long term injuries.

I don’t recall the last time we had a season with half the first team injured and the other half who couldn’t be bothered to play with some pride.

Isaak would be ideal but Newcastle are looking to strengthen rather than sell their best player to a rival club so Gyokeres would also be great…

There’s no way a decent striker of any quality is going to miss the sort of chances Havertz has been wasting in recent games so with a LW like Kvara or Williams as well, we’ll have the depth of quality we’ve been lacking for far too long.

It’ might be expensive to get both but it’s what we need and selling Jesus and Trossard will get us around 50m as well as saving on their high wages.

But we’ll probably have to wait until the end of the season for big transfers like this to happen.

I think that we’d get £10m for Trossard and £25m for Jesus tops. One is getting on now and has been in patchy form this season. Jesus likewise and while he has a higher ceiling his post-World Club injuries have made him a risky purchase.

I don’t think we can “strengthen” by selling two players. We sold our only proper striker Nketiah and didn’t even replace him, yet alone provide the huge upgrade we needed there.

I doubt we have to sell to afford new signings but we’ll get some money and high wages off the books

I agree, selling Nketiah and ESR without replacing either was a big mistake, although I do think Arteta will strengthen our attack significantly after this season, especially as we’ve been so poor upfront with our finishing.

We made an absolute mess of the summer 2017 window and then we went out in the January and spent big money (for 2018 standards) on a proven world class goalscorer to try and save the season.

Why do the club not want to do this again? What is different now

There ain’t a proven world class goal scorer who’s fallen out with his club.

Good point tbf forgot, he fell out with Tuchel?

Fell out with the entire Dortmund hierarchy from what I recall.

Was one of those where they’d been fed up for a while and last straw situations. Sound familiar? :eyes:

Sounds like just another day in a transfer window for Arsenal since 2022.

ConMarbleHalls though? @Calum

Is it the twat that said Odegaard had a setback?

Not a reliable source. Pass.
