Arsenal transfers 25/26

Well someone posted a good list elsewhere in another thread but Nico Williams has a release clause, Marmoush seems to be moving, Kvara is on the table, Muani is a loan option. PSG have wingers who they may have to sell if Kvara comes in.

Then there’s the trossard level list like Mbuemo, Semenyo, Cunha I don’t think all these guys are completely off the table.

There are options. I don’t really see who we would be holding back for in the summer that isn’t available now?

Nico has a clause so its 50m up front. Clause is good but 50m upfront is a big chunk considering we have already spent in the summer.

Kvara is gonna be 80m or more and PSG can easily outbid us. Same sort of deal with Cunha. I reckon Mbuemo would be pricey too.

Marmoush is going to City, same kinda deal as with PSG and Kvara.

Muani is a decent option but kinda meh too and I’m sure people would complian when they actually see him play and realise he’s not really a big goal-scorer.

Out of your list, I’m not really seeing many overly realistic options tbh.

So in other words

We’re fucked

Seems so.

Rather than trying to build and evolve seems the higher ups that were giving it the “be excited” would rather we revert to type. Guess we’ve built up enough clout to get the financial deals in place they’ve wanted.

This season is our first player trading profit in years so I don’t believe we are cooked financially.

If we make excuses for not signing players like Marmoush, Kvara and Williams who are undoubtedly good players then that’s how you end up signing Sterling on loan on transfer deadline day.

Well we would be competing against 2 nation states for Kvara and Marmoush. You can’t just ignore that. Its not really an excuse if you say that we lost a bidding war with those two.

Williams is probably the most gettable but its still quite a large transfer to pull off. The reality is two can easily be out of our price range.

Tbh like many fans, I feel this is more a case of wanting to have someone to blame if we dont get what we want.

Obviously we all want us to be in for these guys but at the same time, some fans would blame the club even where it wasn’t a realistic possibility to do what they wanted.

If we can no longer afford the top players or out compete for signatures against the big clubs like Rice for example. Then that backs up my original point about being worried that the project has potentially peaked.

If there were no market opportunities, the market is dead and nobody is selling that’s different but if players are moving and we can’t get in on the action then that’s worrying. It’s not like we will have less competition for Isak for example.

So if we beat City to Marmoush then does it mean their project has peaked? Or likewise with Kvara and PSG?

That’s not the point I was making and I’m sure you know that.

But even for clubs like City and PSG if you don’t address all of your issues over subsequent transfer windows you can and will fall off no matter how rich you are. City and PSG show that perfectly this season.

Yep and I think what is going to happen is people are going to keep making excuses for why certain players aren’t available or why they may be a little too expensive etc etc.

It’s starting to sound like peak Wenger days of excuses when we were seemingly the only team in Europe who struggles to upgrade on average players.

If we go through the entirety of January knowing the calibre of player who is available on the market right now and end it with the same average attack we started with then something has seriously gone wrong somewhere in the decision making chain.

Honestly speaking he is my dream manager to replace Arteta when the time comes.

If that’s your point then why use those examples to illustrate it? Doesn’t make sense at all.

Nah, we are still miles off those days. We have been consistently making signings. Hasn’t been perfect but we have shown a consistent approach to spending for the past 3-4 seasons now. We can come back to this when we have a Cech window.

You have to take every specific scenario on it’s merits. You can be upset about not signing a type of player but some specific players are not going to be possible to sign. It’s just reality. Not everything is gross negligence by the club.

Absolutely

I’d be over the moon if Inzaghi comes here, huge fan since his early days at Lazio (as a manager).

If there’s any truth in him wanting to work here we should be all over that.

2/3 of the window left and not sure we’ve had any concrete links yet

Ornstein just confirmed our interest in Williams but difficulties due to release clause needing to be shelled out up front

Why’s that?

Arsenal always has excuses for why they can’t sign anyone.

What did Vieira say all those years ago, something about not being able to compete if you keep shopping in Harrods or something.

All it takes is 2 successive windows or inactivity to drop a grade in quality and output on the pitch.

If this happens to us in January and we don’t course correct in the summer, we are absolutely cooked and will drop to a top 3-4 team at best.

Then our Nasris, RvPs, Fabregas’ will be sold to make money.

And our fans will get indoctrinated to be satisfied with 20 more years of being a bridesmaid club till the next owners take over.

Rinse and repeat.

Act now Arsenal to avoid the demise.

He also mentioned wages and agent commissions.
I am a bit confused though if he’s implying Williams is willing to actually join us(which was the tough part I presume in the summer) and join us now in the middle of the season
