6/10. Hampered by lack of clarity in outgoings - too many loans and late deals. Some squad improvements which make them most notably harder to beat. Hoping for some players to have their best ever season after coming up (a little) short 3 seasons running.

When we win titles this season we will become very attractive destination for top-top players…

Including outgoings, this is a 9/10 when considering our two top forwards on the list weren’t available. So we’ve got a better left sided defender, a classy midfielder who replaces Xhaka (once his shoulder is fixed), signed Raya and a very promising GK in Setford then we managed to scoop-up a very good attacker for half his wages for a year. Sterling and Saka played well for England when both picked, swapping wings and Sterling’s best season with City was when Arteta coached him. Oh and Neto’s a good back-up keeper.

Out went Cedric and Elneny at the end of their contracts, We got approximately £80m (up front) shifting Sambi, Nuno, Aaron, Nketiah, Ramsdale and sending Vieira and Reiss out on loan.

We have a formidable team if they can just avoid Gabriel in training.

Hire a MMA fighter to train with Gabriel separately.

we have to go big on isak next window

We should have done that this window. You know if SAF or Pep missed the title by 2 points, they’d go big in the summer. I think not bringing in a high quality attacker will turn out to be a mistake.

Ferguson would win the title and still go out and spend loads on the best players.

If Pep and SAF coached Everton, they wouldn’t have money to buy shit

I generally agree but I see what the club tried to do with the Sterling loan. It’s like signing a great, but maybe a little old, WR on a 1yr deal to push for a Super Bowl.

The squad will look very different next year I think. As settled as we think it is, if we come up short again, there will be other clubs circling for our best performers.

If Jesus and Merino were not injured, I think we are good enough already.

Maybe a bit short in a department or so, but good enough.

The Merino injury is unfortunate but Jesus has proven to be unreliable for most of his time at the club so we have ourselves to blame for expecting him to be available.

Sterling was never the main target in attack. The club saw an opportunity in the final few days and took it. It might work out in our favour but this should have been in addition to that quality attacker we should have signed this summer. Imagine having Williams and Sterling for example. In the end, we are probably lucky to get Sterling and that doesn’t speak too highly of our transfer strategy.

The Nico Williams thing never felt real to me. I’m also very wary of trying to convince players who want to play for Barcelona to come to Arsenal instead. It’s bad enough we had to suffer through the GFFN admin threatening to self harm if Saliba didn’t sign for Marseille on a permanent basis. I want players who want to be here because they believe in the club, not because their “dream move” to Barcelona was out of reach due to financial mismanagement.

I’m was probably more willing to take a swing on a different player if Williams wasn’t available. I felt we were two short going into the summer and that was before selling/loaning guys and Martinelli and Jesus were out of form or injured.

Listening to the arsecast and cana the goalie coach has waaaay to much power.

Arsenal came to him with numerous goalkeepers throughout the summer and he said no only the espanyol guy. So when we found out they were not budging on their 30m asking price we were in a right mess.

The Ramsdale deal was very close to being pulled if Edu didn’t put his foot down and say we are getting Neto on a season loan

No wonder we had no bandwidth to focus on an attacker.

Can we please find a similar forwards coach?
