Arsenal transfers 25/26

Succinct.

News in Portugal stating that Sporting have paid Coventry to lower the sell on clause from 15 to 10% . So from this I deduce there might be a fraction of truth in a lot of the bullshit rumours flying around

Well I’ve been talking about this with a friend of mine and I said in an ideal world we need a number 9 cos Jesus isn’t it in my humble opinion, but I think we need cover for Saka as a bigger priority, someone we don’t know about who wouldn’t mind being on the bench, basically a proper right sided version of Trossard.

Then I thought get someone in like Gyokeres and then keep Jesus as back up to Saka and the new number 9. For me it’s a perfect solution as Jesus has got prove he stay fit and not to keep blasting the ball over the bar

I agree that Jesus can provide that cover on the wing. I like the look of Gyokeres but wonder if he will be as prolific in the PL. Feels like a punt still, and personally I’d sooner us spend big on a striker next summer. I still think we will opt for a winger. Shame that Nico Williams isn’t looking to move because he would be perfect for us.

Really feel like Jesus and Vieira are on their last legs here. If they can’t pull up consistently good performances with efficient G/As to boot, then they’re leaving next summer.

Same goes for Zinny and Tomiyasu but for different reasons.

Signing Gyokeres would make this one of our best windows because not only would we have bought three very good players, we will also have got rid of players that aren’t good enough.

It also means our strength in depth in all positions is better than every PL club that isn’t Man City.

The proof will be in the pudding this season because he’s had ample time now to shake off his injury problems. He has never been the same in the CF position since the issue at the World Cup. Prior to that he led the line brilliantly with his dynamism and helped take us to another level. Jesus has had a sharp pre-season and I agree that so long as he’s close to 100% we should give him a season in the hope he gets back to his best. If he doesn’t we still have room for him out wide and Kai up top who’s gaining in experience and confidence in that position.

I’m not confident with him as our main striker. At home, against most teams, he’s a terror for opposition. I actually think he’s better on the wing.

Agreed, but only as long as we don’t rely on him to score goals. If he’s fully fit, he’ll be a constant problem for any opposition with his pressing and dribbling. We can always use him on the wings but the guy wants to play as a forward and he’s just not lethal enough to play that role.

This will most likely be the season that decides his Arsenal future.

  • Almost won the league with Jesus up top scoring 11 in 26.
  • Almost won the league with Kai Havertz up top scoring 13 in 37.

If both can contribute and one can push on to 15 goals that might be all the difference we need. The risk is can they even hit those previous numbers again or stay fit enough to do so.

Neither are clinical strikers but we’ve seen they can do enough and our wingers are the ones who score the most goals in this setup, similar to mane and salah under klopp.

I’m happy with Havertz and Jesus, I just feel we need a proper striker who is a natural goalscorer. Someone to give us another option.

Nketiah could have been that player had he fit into our style of play and was a bit more physical.

If Eddie goes, and I think it’s time, we need that third option.

Almost.

Becoming a pattern

Yep, hence the rest of the comment.

We’re only gonna get 1 forward at best, at this rate unlikely to be a starter unless it’s gyokeres, and that means the Havertz at CM experiment is back.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we sign a better scorer and get worse overall initially.

As long as our forwards as a collective are getting double digit Prem goals then we’ll be fine.

There is no first eleven, some games will require Kai up front, others will need the skill set that our new player has and Jesus will be our 3rd choice forward and 2nd choice right winger. All will get playing time.

I don’t know whether you’ve heard but we’re buying a lad for the number 8 CM position. Mikel Marina or something.

That seems pointless, unless Ramsdale really wants to leave. But there isn’t any indication that’s the case?

Not playing many games last season seems like a big one.

Sczezesny is a better goalkeeper than Raya but Arteta doesn’t want a goalkeeper, he wants a ball playing defender who can make the odd save.

and can claim a ton of crosses

Hopefully with the Eddie deal looking like it’s moving forward we can turn attention to moving Zinchenko out.

It was first reported on a local to Naples sports radio station who ADL sometimes slips bits of information.
I wouldn’t speculate whether Arsenal’s interest is real or whether ADL is putting it out there that PSG need to make a higher offer.
Either this news isn’t any Itk bollocks it’s from a proper sports radio station like you have in the UK, which I can’t remember what’s it called.
