Last season he scored 29 goals in 33 appearances for Sporting who won the league, so to me he screams a 29 goal a season striker, and please don’t tell me you’re a regular viewer of Portuguese football.

Ok fair enough. But it likely won’t translate into 25 goals in the Premier League straight off the bat.

Different class entirely.

As he’s played in England before, I can imagine Gyokeres settles fairly quickly.

I’d love him here, his game is crisp and refined.

Very complete CF, I think it’d translate pretty well especially in a team such as this

Has all the tools

Genuine question, how many 25 goal a season strikers have their been in the 38 game era of English football?

It’s such a big number to hit in a season you’re generally gonna be happy if your striker scores 20 goals in the league.

Not many, that’s true.

If he could do 20 here per season, I’d be very happy with that in retrospect.

Aside from supposed “available” strikers Gyokeres and Osimhen are probably at the top of the tree, Osimhen is out of our reach and Gyokeres is our best bet. I’ve seen him play and he knows where the goal is his movement is great and his ball holding is near as perfect.

Far more promise than Nunez and I would boot Jesus out of the club just like that just to bring him in.
Before anyone mentions “PL proven” that’s the biggest load of bollocks in the whole history of football clichés.

Never really watched him play before.
Does he fit Arteta’s style?

We know, it is not just adding a striker that adds a number of goals.
There is a certain style that Arteta wants the team to play.

That’s why I said to get rid of Jesus. He’ll fit right in and don’t forget Arteta keeps saying he wants Arsenal to be more unpredictable well for that to happen he needs different types of players, and last season with one or two exceptions he played the same team :person_shrugging:

Yeah, he looks the best option out there and unlike Osimhen he’s very well rounded

Osimhen is a frustrating player in terms of techinal ability and also all round game

Shame that Gyokeres has that pesky release clause, I think he’s potentially a top three striker in the world if his game translates after his next move.

It feels as though Jesus will stay for at least this season. He needs to prove his fitness and improve his goal scoring record. This is definitely an area of the team though that we can upgrade in. Who would be your preferred replacement?

There is no reason to get rid of Jesus. He’s quality.

Apart from actually doing his damn job scoring goals, he is utterly crap!

He’s overrated proper

Perfect forward for us as he can play across the front 3.

He’s far from perfect, essentially a defensive forward now

I’d jump at the chance of replacing him with someone like Gyokeres
