I think there is great difference in what we did against Villa and what we did against Fulham.
Nketiah was on it that day and Vieira gave us his best half to date.
Not sure what difference some other striker could’ve made that day.
He would certainly not stop us conceding the shitty goals we did.
Could a killer striker have made a difference in the two games against Villa(more specifically the first one because that’s the one that were incredibly wasteful)?
Probably, not guaranteed (because you can definitely have one of those days) but it’s likely.
The games against Fulham though? Nah.
The game against Spurs that @Starboy mentioned is a much better shout.
Beyond the league I’d say maybe Lens away in the Champions League and definitely Liverpool in the FA Cup.
Yeah. They’re working on his 22/23 performance. Doesn’t compare as well 23/24. Consistently good with crosses though, like raya…Is that what the recruiters like…?
Tbh I think positions as we think of them are outdated and most managers don’t even bother with that, same with strict formations.
It’s moreso about fitting profiles into roles.
Team has different roles and formations for different game states, whether that’s in possession or out of possession and those have variants given the context of the score, time and opponent.
Didn’t say he was bad fit. I just wouldn’t bring him to play up top like Havertz, Jesus and Trossard do.
I don’t think that fits to his strengths.
I would take him on the left currently over Martinelli and Trossard to take advantage of his best qualities.
I think he’d be feasting with goals there if fitness allowed it.
As much as Isak would be a great signing, we should have got him before Newcastle did.
They have the richest owners in Europe yet haven’t made an elite marquee signing so they certainly aren’t going to sell their best player to a rival club.
