Two midfielders in January doesn’t seem remotely on the table. I haven’t seen anybody reputable suggest that as a realistic scenario.
Danilo plus a winger who can help us immediately and I would be very happy.

Elneny ideally should be an emergency option imo and as you said, maybe as a closer off the bench.
As things stand, an injury to Partey/Xhaka means Elneny starts.
I don’t think Elneny would start for Xhaka. Right now I’d say Vieira, then Lokonga, and in a month it could be Smith-Rowe.
If we get Danilo and a good winger then we’ll have Partey/Danilo/Elneny as the group at the six and at the eight Odegaard/Xhaka/Vieira/Smith-Rowe/Lokonga. After this year hopefully we sell Lokonga and either replace him internally with Patino or externally with somebody else. If we get the winger we need, this also allows Smith-Rowe to be more of a backup midfielder than a backup winger, as we’ll have Jesus/Saka/Martinelli/Nketiah/NewWinger/Nelson for the rest of this season. ESR could still play on the wing but he won’t be the first choice off the bench there.
I want both!
The Zaha boat has sailed.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s a fantastic player but I think it’s little too late to bring in a 29yr old.
Zaha, in my eyes, has never been a fantastic player. I think he’s thrived being the best player in a largely average Palace team over the last however many years but I just don’t think his talent translates into success at a bigger team. He has an individual approach to football, hence his outrageously low assist numbers and he’s a penalty goal merchant too.
On top of that he’s as moody and whiney as it gets.
Eze is an interesting, very much like Renato Sanches and Aouar who we held an interest in before.
Arteta does like his ball carriers so it’s a player worth keeping an eye on.
You can argue ESR can do that as well but Eze has a better passing range than Emile. Emile on the other hand does have better awareness in and around the box and has gotten a knack for goals too.
I don’t think anyone will take the left interior role from Xhaka this season but it’ll be interesting to see how we approach things in the second half of the season when ESR is fit. Certainly a great option to come off the bench compared to what we have now.
How much of that is because without zaha putting palace on his back they’d have been relegated in a flash?
Look at the list of managers zaha has kept in the game at Palace it’s crazy.
My best mate is a palace fan so I watch a lot of palace games and zaha is a fantastic player. If he wasn’t fantastic why do we as arsenal fans collectively shit ourselves when we play palace or have bought up white doing decent against him every chance we get.
Is he world class and at the top of football, no. But he is still a proper player and with better coaching he could of played for an arsenal, spurs, United these last few years.
Definitely would like to see Zaha get a top club move so we can see what the deal truly is, very polarising player.
His United stint isn’t definitive at all.
There no real doubt he would be productive at a bigger club that suits his style
Can see him at Newcastle or one of the other London clubs.
If he’s willing to accept normal wages then multiple clubs abroad would take him as well.
Terrible timing that move and was never given an opportunity.
Did he even get a PL game or two at Utd?
Btw he turned 30 yesterday. People been telling me everything here is age profile, now the exception is him.
Come on his football has all been played in the lower half of the table.
Beginning of the end of his career now. Not finishing it here.
The big caveat here is that he will be a free agent.
I don’t think Arsenal will be in for him but would you really be surprised if other big clubs are?
It all depends on what his priorities are now. One big final contract or one last run in a more competitive club.
Chelsea?
Zaha is an upgrade on the likes of Ziyech and Pulisic
They were interested this summer.
Can see them taking the young only approach now though after moves for Sterling, Auba and KK haven’t particularly worked out.
The Barca link recently was interesting. Barca are already stacked but logic isn’t their strong suit so can’t put it past them to go for Zaha.
Danilo, Tielemens and Zaha. Yes please
Remember when they wanted 80m for Zaha now they’re gonna lose him on a free looool
Zaha at a bigger club for me is a bit of an unknown but unfortunately for him he locked himself into that longterm deal at Palace. Now 30 years of age and he really should have been making that move 2 years or so ago to see how it penned out.
Manchester United say hello
