I don’t know. He’s going to demand big wages and is almost 30 and doesn’t track back. Not sure he’s an Arteta signing or that he’s worth it now. But the boss wants him, then I’ll back it. But definitely not one I would expect it be annoyed about if we don’t sign him.
I’m not bothered about wages as long as the contract length isn’t long term, I don’t think the not tracking back thing is accurate. Palace is one of the hardest working sides in the league
I think a signing like Zaha is more impactful for our second half of the season compared to a player like Mudryk who is still developing. As long as Arteta makes it clear what’s expected of him and that he isn’t an automatic starter I don’t see the issue with brining him in
He brings experience, quality, depth, grit, directness and will provide G/A at a cut price
I wonder what Arteta would have made of Zaha if we’d signed him over Pepe. Certainly would have played more than Pepe did you’d imagine but would the end result be the same.
I’m a Zaha stan so my opinion doesn’t count, but I think Zaha would have bought into some of the stuff Arteta was preaching. I think Zaha has shown a similar personality to Jesus in that he loves the scrap (does he love a kvetch a little too much? Maybe, but maybe that’s just what he needs to play on the edge).
I don’t think he could have had worse production than Pepe. There’s just no chance.
Lindstrøm with 6 in 12 from out wide
That looked like a Tottenham match with Son scoring
Apparently reliable
Makes no sense to wait until the summer. Surely Leicester can be persuaded to take some money for him in January, rather than losing him for nothing.
Weird, they rarely are the main source
Maybe making this news public is to put pressure on Leicester to sell in January.
We cant talk with him until January, right?
I’d rather get him in earlier to be honest. Question would be, how good are Patino and Azeez potentially as I think we need better than Tielemans tbh. If he’s there as a place holder to Patino and rotation with Xhaka, he’s a smart pick up.
My eyes are on the likes of Bellingham and Milinkovic Savic.
Oh ffs. Not this again. Surely if the club like him that much they can work something out with Leicester.
4500 followers doesn’t fill me with confidence
Officially we can’t talk to him until the summer. There are different rules depending on in England/not in England.
But there’s official and reality.
Are you sure you aren’t an attorney?
I’m a civil servant so there isn’t a massive difference.
Have a hard time believing we’ll do the right thing and sign two midfielders in January.
Lokonga and Elneny weren’t serious options for a Top 4 contender, they’re certainly not serious backups if we want to challenge City for the league while also compete for the EL.
Elneny has shown he’s worthy of coming off the bench. Maybe not a one for one replacement for either Partey or Xhaka but he’s a serviceable squad man.
Sambi…haven’t been impressed at all by him.
