Arsenal transfers 25/26

Honestly feel you just have to give the club the last week before final judgment.

Was starting to worry the sarcasm wouldn’t be picked up

I’m not saying I’m not giving them the week to make the difference.

My comments were more directed at a few on here that are already giddy with the window even if nothing happens from this point.

If nothing happens from this point, we’re no better than 50-50 for top 4 unless blessed by the injury gods.

We really do need cover

It makes sense for us to put the word out that we’re not desperate for signings. Might help us not get rinsed on transfer fees.

I think we’re very much active in the market but have a strict budget.

We should keep AMN if we don’t sign a midfielder. Even if he’s fucking 80th choice, in case of fire he’s our emergency. Still a shitty option all things considered.

Yeah fair. Not directed at you. Just generalised view and am anxious that this opportunity isn’t missed either.

I honestly believe a couple of key additions in the right areas though and top 4 is very likely and anywhere as high as 2nd is possible.

JustArsenal, haven’t used them in 15 years or something…

Someone leaked it yesterday but was unsure of its validity. Looks like it was true.
Good to see Arteta admitting that we’re short.

Scenes if that happens.

10 goals in 31 games last season in La Liga from the wing is a pretty decent return.

If we can get him for a decent price, I’d be very open to giving this transfer a go especially as he is only 26 years old so would still have some resale value if he plays a good couple of seasons.

At this point we just need someone who can rotate and alleviate pressure on Saka, and who knows he can potentially also fill in in midfield in the Xhaka/Odegaard role.

Fine with it

The only reason I would entertain Asensio is because of his versatility and faith in Arteta and his team to recover what was one of the most promising talents in world football.

Worry about his injury record and him going off the boil a bit the last 2 years but the quality was there.

Worth a gamble as it brings experience but keeps Saka as the number 1 really.

If we were to bring him I could envision him in the Xhaka role long term.

He’s played 30+ games every season since 2017 except for 19/20 so I’m not sure it’s a huge worry.

Unless most of those were sub appearances of course

Asensio just doesn’t fit the ā€œsuper qualityā€ argument for me. But I also associate him with unfulfilled potential, maybe unfairly.

Plenty of people said the same thing about Odegaard.

I think it’s one of those cases where, like Man City, Madrid have so much quality in the team that their bench players are more than good enough for us.

Especially if Asensio is just meant to be cover.
