Arsenal transfers 25/26

This just makes me think it’s less likely we get these guys

Up against Liverpool. Hmm.

Also, no way we’ll pay that release clause.

I don’t buy the Pino rumours yet.
They essentially rooted from Edu following his agency last week and Arsenal fans putting 2+2 together.

Now Spanish media report about our interest in him, and some of them reference English media as the source yet no English media have reported anything yet. This feels very messy.

I’d rather someone whose ready to come in and have a major impact right away.

More and more Spanish outlets reporting the Pino news.
Dunno how I feel about that…
He’s a good prospect but I wanted a more experienced player that could be a game changer immediately, essentially an upgrade on what we got. I guess he’s another good young attacking option that can compete with Saka, Martinelli and the rest rather than come in as a starter. Similar to Vieira.

Turns into a beast on FM

I would have liked a more experienced option but Pino seems like a good transfer if the fee is reasonable. I haven’t seen him play much but he seems very very highly rated in Spain. For his age he has a lot of experience, including starting a European final and already breaking into the senior national setup. Given that he is Spanish I would expect Arteta and his team to be very familiar with him and hopefully to have gotten a lot of inside info about his mentality, ability to adapt to English football, etc. You don’t want another Bryan Gil.

Local media says that the player’s entourage confirms interest from Arsenal and Liverpool. Hard to see us beating out Liverpool if they go hard for him but also hard to see where he really fits into the Liverpool setup right now with Diaz, Nunez, Salah, Jota, Firmino, and Carvalho all options for the front three. They need a midfielder, not another winger.

So many loans and low ball transfers. Seems like we’re just desperate to get players off the books.

Never heard of Pino, but 80m seems a silly transfer. Stinks of Pepe v2.0

That’s his release clause. Doubt anyone not named Chelsea or Man Utd would pay that.

That is his release clause but I can’t see any way we’d pay it. Villarreal seem like a club that will negotiate.

We paid similar for Pepe, so I wouldn’t rule it out.

We did but that was under a different regime.
Club even started an internal investigation about it. Release clauses in Spain I believe require the full fee to be paid up front as well.
At least with Pepe we paid in multiple installments.

Unless this guy is the next Iniesta, I can’t see us triggering his RC.

Is the goalkeeper market that slim that we can only ship Runnarsson out on loan and not actually unload him somewhere?

Our annual giving Runarsson away basically for free klaxon.

Only one more of these to come, so make sure you enjoy this one to the fullest.

His reps can chip in if they don’t want to disturb Betis.

I like how the tweet frames this as somehow novel or unique. Of course his reps would want the exit to be as cheap as possible. The less money Betis spend on a transfer fee, the more they can spend on wages and agents’ fees. This isn’t rocket science.
