Arsenal transfers 25/26

Our squad has been full of players who only want to be part time, not serious professionals.

Loves him enough to not make a bid

This is the reality of things though. Guys like Hector, Ainsley, Nelson, Torreira and others may have lots of interest but no club will step up their interest till August when they can lowball Arsenal.
Especially in Hector’s case, if he is holding out for them, Betis have all the leverage in the negotiations with Arsenal.

It’s why I’m glad the club didn’t wait for sales to occur before signing people up this time around.

Yeah I presumed that would be the case as well.

We have bunch of players who are willing to wait for their preferred clubs.

We can’t complain too much since we are doing this with Tielemans

I was thinking about throwing the Tielemans situation in the mix as an example too.
For what is worth, the buyer isn’t the only benefactor here. Very likely the player gets a better contract out of it if the buyer pays a lower fee.

That is an interesting take.
Perhaps the incentive for the player to wait is the allocation of the saved transfer fees to the wages.

We can relay 1m to TIelemans in wages if it saves 5m in transfer fee.
Never thought about it in that way.

Tielemans will certainly be a big beneficiary in August.
There will be clubs that will be desperate to bring in a midfielder that will look at him even if they didn’t initially. Clubs like Newcastle and Man Utd have been sniffing around and it’s likely they’ll step up their interest soon. On the other side Leicester may get desperate and throw a big contract to him considering how important he to Rodgers.

It’s a bit if dangerous game to play but if you play it well you can certainly come out of it with the club of your choice and better money.

I have a feeling Tielemans is an Arsenal fan and would prefer this move from an emotional perspective.

It sounds like it but at the end of the day it’s all about business. If Man Utd or Newcastle come in and offer him mad money and Arsenal are not willing to match it he may very well decide what’s best for him financially.
You best believe his agent/s will try to push him to choose the best financial offer on the table.

Which would be fair.

I never understand why clubs wait until the end of the window.
It’s the most uneconomical and stupid way to do business, as we’ve often found out.

How many windows have we been involved in where the selling club hold out for a higher price because they can’t get a replacement or they know we’re desperate?
Also, the season has started so the first few games are thrown away because we’re unprepared.

Wenger was particularly poor with transfer strategy and never learned from his mistakes.
He thought he was being clever but all he did was waste money on second rate players, giving them massive wages and we still can’t get rid of them.

It’s called: “doing a Ramsey.” :grinning:

Oh of course. If you are bought cheap, or even on a free, then you can negotiate a better salary+bonus.

Deep Dive with Fabrizio(and I assume Janes Benge too) on Arsenal in live 20 mins.

“Let’s see what happens, eh?”

Probably about his level

Who was that guy that said he’s a good defender recently? :wenger2:

I’d retain Mari, dump him in the EL

Mari gets eaten alive in every game he plays. One of the worse CB’s we’ve ever had. Needs to fuck off asap.

I want to win the EL, so Mari should be nowhere near the team

Exactly I want us to field our best 11 in the first 4 matches of group stages and every knockout match thereafter.

Winning EL should be our top priority
