That’s true but just having Xhaka partnering anyone is unacceptable.
He’s our longest serving first team player and since he’s been here we’ve never finished in the top four places.
He has to be replaced if we want to buck that trend.

He might take a while to adjust but I think the hope is that Vieira will eventually make that left 8 position his own. ESR could also play there too.

Vieira and Ode is pretty lightweight together but that back four plus Partey would be killer defensively - fast, physical, very aggressive.

Tbh if I was an external fan I’d be worried. These look like competent moves from a team that was very close to causing problems last year.
If we had the squad that this window seems it might give us last year with no Aubameyang shit, we’d have certainly got 4th and potentially 3rd.
Spurs look like they’re doing the right things to make a Conte team too, so if I’m United or Chelsea fan I’m worried about both, and Spurs should be worried about us too.
