One to watch going forward. Will be interesting to see if playing with the U21s was a one time thing or whether he will get consistent play at that level going forward. That promotion was very very fast as he only played four matches at U18 level beforehand.
Canāt think of the last time we actually developed a CB for the first team. Isaac Hayden had a career with Newcastle but I donāt think he ever played for us.
15 and playing in U21s? Thereās something fishy about this.

Dowman today for England U17s against Netherlands U17s.
Kid is special but also a total ball hog! I donāt know if the Dubai trip with the first team went to his head a bit but I hope our coaches are having a word about passing more often.
He is by far the youngest player on this team.
Dowmanās doing a lot in these clips. Almost too much but the fact heās able to play with such personality at that level despite being the youngster of the group is encouraging.

Yup, it wasnāt fully coming off for him and he was probably dribbling a bit too much when he should have passed but its also clear that he was affecting the game a ton and was a bit unplayable for the opposition. He is 1-2 years younger than the other English players and most of the Dutch players are actually 17 or 18 so he is 2-3 years younger than the opponents and these are the best kids of that age from the Ajax and PSV academies which tend to churn out good professionals.
A lot of development to come but also clearly a rare talent.
