Arsenal Pre-season

I was expecting Bellerin to be the weak link here but he hasn’t so fair play to him.

This could be our first team at work. With Saka and Partey for Pepe and Lokonga. Not sure I like this.

Saka will surely be in for either Auba or Laca. Playing them together is just footballing death and Arteta showed pretty clearly last spring that his preference was not to do it.

Huge chance for Spurs. Sitter.

Did Leno touch that? I feel like he did. Good performance from him today.

Fair enough. We indeed didn’t see that combination a lot if the second half of the season.

Playing alright but again we can’t turn our dominance into goals.

Lack of a CAM fucking us?

Have to take Auba out if he’s not playing centrally

Pepe’s delivery from set-pieces has improved a lot.
Shame Gabriel is out. Would have loved receiving those.

What’s wrong with Gabby?

Hello chaps, I see Aubameyang is out on the wings again.

Fucked up his knee while out with Brazil’s U23s I think.

Fuck, he be out long?

You never know with knees. I think the recovery time that was speculated was 3 months. We’ll see.

Auba has been hard to watch. Just doesn’t look a threat at all. He really does nothing if he isn’t scoring. Mirror opposite to Laca who has looked sharp.

Both Lokonga and White are standing out in that first half, some decent stuff from Smith Rowe and Laca as well but pretty vanilla once we get into the final third. There’s no cutting edge

Martinelli?

It’s a shame because I think he has been active in preseason but the killing pedigree he used to have is gone.
He doesn’t take advantage of space in the box like he used to and when he gets the chances you can sense that he’s freaking out.
Torres syndrome, Falcao syndrome, call it what you want but he’s suffering from that.
