Arsenal Pre-season 25/26

Tbh the rest of the team is working well.

So you fix the attack and we can be very good.

But the lack of creativity is really worrying.

Odegaard, the wingers…

Fuck that. He’s crap. Bump up Jesus and Nwaneri. Nelson has to go. Martinelli is hanging on by a string playing like this.

Arteta also needs to look at his tactics or instructions or whatever.. how can the exact same team in 22-23 (bar a few changes), be so ineffective in attack; it’s unreal.

None of them can shoot a barn door. All like a deer in headlines.

Martinelli, Havertz, Odegaard… they’re all poor lately - even Saka’s not his usual self.

We looked like shit defensively too today.

Well almost every signing we’ve made has gone away from that style towards a taller, stronger more physical approach.

We won’t get the same space we got in 22/23 now, we surprised people that season, so we have to create spaces and chances.

Liverpool do it by sitting back and punting long with 3-4 players always ready to go. City do it with overwhelming chance creation via multiple creative midfielders.

We are stuck in some middle position that tries to do a bit of both but does neither. We have enough quality that we still overcome teams most of the time but it’s not exciting.

that’s a fair assessment.

The other question I have, is why we struggle in general to just shoot the ball cleanly? Like as in, full force through the lace.. our men keep scuffing it and doing these half shots that barely trouble the keeper.

It needs to be addressed.

I’ll keep the positive performances against Liverpool and Newcastle but this was certainly a downer of a performance.
Good that the slap happened before the season started but we can’t show up like this at OT.

Yeah. TBH I only really suggested this because I was so frustrated with how shite we were in attack - particularly from the usual suspects on the left.

Anyways this was a good test to have in preseason so hopefully something can be learned and done about this.

I didn’t watch the game so solely speaking about the clip below.

urgh. When Lewis-Skelly receives the ball, he’s the spare man as they’ve double Trossard. A player in his position needs to be more proactive

  1. Play forward to Rice inside the box
  2. Drive forward with the ball and get someone to step out of the defensive block

The opposition won’t care about our full-backs in an attacking sense otherwise.

Fucking hell lad’s it’s a pre-season friendly…the meltdown is crazy

Exactly, but also nobody comes into the space to show for him either, there is a line of 4 of them on the 18 yard box making it easy to defend.

No variety in the movement.

full headloss is the Arsenal way lol. Let’s be honest though, even if this was a competitive fixture, the style of play would be the same - I think that’s what people are bothered about more so than the result.

Better we argue about this shit rather than transfers tbh.

Let’s not overreact. We looked shit, same dry football, didn’t score and lost. United away in two weeks. Everybody celebrate…

ThE tItLe Is OvEr!!!
