Arsenal players on loan watch 2019/20 season

Arsenal behind the scenes have implemented new strategies to ensure more value is given to loan spells. This involved signing specialist in the loan department and allowing Mertesacker to have the autonomy in this area.

With Nelson and Rowe coming back with decent amount of first team experience in Bundesliga, I expect few youngsters to go out on loan again.

Mertesacker has already emphasised on the importance of Bundesliga in developing youngsters:

Let’s use this thread to keep an eye out youngsters etc on loan.

20 year old fullback Jordi Osei Tutu loaned out to Bundesliga 2 side Vfl Bochum.

One of the lads who was released this summer, Cohen Bramall, rated this guy, was apparently shocked he didn’t get a chance in the first team.

How much did ESR even play on his loan?

Can’t wait to see how William Saliba does this season while on loan

I’d prefer it if a loan specialist had autonomy over loans rather than an ex player.

I mean that sincerely but also saving @sevchenko the effort.

Jordi Osei Tutu has featured in 2-3 games. Scored in one of them as well.

However main reason (very sad to say) I am posting is to highlight the horrific situation Tutu was in.

He faced racial abuse from one of the opponents players. Tutu was in tears and stormed off… Rightly so! However showed immense bravery to come back on the pitch.

Arsenal and Bochum have shown support on twitter.

Very very sad. The kid has literally just moved to Germany, adapting and he faces shit like this. His tweet was a very strong response though.

This is one of the many positives about the direction the club are going in. There’s clearly a more stringent set of processes in place to help with the academy development and that can only be beneficial.
