Arsenal Kits and Merch

Dad’s been going through bis wardrobe and having a cull, said I could have this for my collection since he never wears it.

Pretty sure its the away goalie shirt from the Invincible season, which I can add to the home and away shirts from that season (though this one isn’t signed by Bobby P :slightly_smiling_face:)

Yep, Jens can be seen wearing it in this game

You going tucked or untucked?

Tbh, I doubt I’ll ever wear it, I very rarely wear any of my shirts, so when I do it’ll be one of the outfield ones most likely.

Jealous. They must be in mint condition! Some of mine are falling apart.

I have 4 cats and they love climbing up me. So my collection of shirts all have blemishes from their claws. The lovey bastards.

Please bin that horrid kit we wore today and only have the yellow top from here on out.

Was my little one’s first birthday recently and my Liverpool supporting mate bought her this. Probably as much to piss off my United supporting wife as to make me happy

Already got the yellow away kit?

The hallmark of a very good friend…great gift. Good to see you getting in early with the Arsenal kits rather than leaving it to chance. Far too many Utd supporters anyway!

More effective to wear it at home in London than in the away games we’ve worn it in this far.

This just turned up through the letter box, couldn’t help myself, little xmas treat.

I fucking hate this kit with a passion. It’s vile. All white shirts is something Arsenal should never wear.

It’s good for Arsenal to highlight knife crime in London and put out a positive message though and the kit is about the most visible platform they could use for it.

What would you have them do instead?

Utilise the big screens with all white backgrounds
All white front cover on programmes
Have all white cards for fans to hold up all around the stadium
Huge white banner held by kids in centre circle

Lots of other ways to highlight the issue without a kit looking like the scum from the lane.

I don’t see any issue with doing all of those things as well but they’re also the kind of thing that gain less attention. I’m sure we could have a different special kit but I think the idea of doing something so noticeable is right.

It might be the right thing to do…. I just doubt it really raises the awareness of the issue much more as it already has a very heightened profile in the media anyhow.

I hated the white 3rd kits we have had over the last decade or so too.

A whole stadium of people covered in white? David Duke would love that.

I rather see Arsenal (and by extension a wealthy industry such as Football) fund initiatives (or more if they’re already doing it) to tackle knife crime. Anyone that grew up in London or lives in it knows about the problem.

I would say knows about and accepts the problem. Politically there’s little meaningful happening to change it. New Years Day didn’t even make it to daylight before the first teenager was stabbed in 2024 in London.

Arsenal are using their profile to, among other things, challenge inaction in their own backyard that is seeing children murdered. I really don’t think it deserves the apathy it gets.
