Can’t wait for the beast to return and lock up that defence.
Would love for Mikel to rotate more at the back and midfield so the likes of Saliba, Gabi, Rice and Zubmendi don’t have to play every minute of every game but for that to happen, we’ll need to sort out our attacking play. Having a 1 or 2 goal lead in this league is never enough, and except for a couple of games, most of our wins in the league have been by that margin. Can see why Mikel hesitates to rotate.

To win the league though are defence is going to need to be exceptional not fine, because im pretty sure city are scoring 15/20 more than us by the end of the season.

I know those 7 games are different comps etc but 5 in 7 works out to 27/28 across 38 games. Only bettered twice inside the last 5 seasons.
Our defence has been exceptional until all the injuries and has been doing ok since too. I think it will clearly improve if we can get and keep our back four fit again.

Yeah I hear you it’s just city are on 90 goal pace whilst we are on 71 goal pace. Our defence is going to have to be one of the best the PL has seen to make up the difference, that’s the standard required from it imo.
If you make 1.8 goals per game (which is below the bar don’t get me wrong) you shouldn’t have one of the best defences the PL has ever seen to get points.
I miss the days of looking forward to clean sheets more than anything else. Arsenal seem to be conceding as of late.

I am not saying Arsenal fans truly believed it but we never came close to it lol. We finished in the bottom 6 of this graphic

Yep. Conceded 17 goals in the end.
Although not known for great defences in the first place, Wenger has some remarkable defensive records, such as this one, or that one in the 2006 CL, with around 1000 mins withouth a goal. That one still stands, no?
