I was intrigued, so I asked Gemini (because I’m a tight cunt and got it free with my pixel 10) the last time we conceded 3 or more goals, which would in my eyes register as a pasting. The answer surprised me…….
5th December 2023, Luton Town, we beat them 4-3.
God I remember that game.
Wasn’t that during that spell where we were scoring for fun?
Luton had a few of those games that season where they scored enough goals to win by a margin but ended up losing or drawing because their defence was awful.
And now they’re in League One.
That good ol’ game of basketball against Luton. That was the second most strangest game I’ve watched in a long-time.
Last one before that was the 7-5 result against Reading.
we’re so good at making those last ditch tackles
Like the look on Hincapie
It’s very clear that we are starting to witness something very special with Arsenal. We could achieve something very special this season.

lets go and beat that run from 1903
Our defence is permanently rock solid.
Reminds me of something but I can’t put my finger on it ![]()
I don’t think that Chelsea record is gettable is it? Surely not!
On the 94th minute the whole team tracked back to defend the clean sheet. Said out loud to myself, I love this team.
I didn’t think so but under twenty goals being conceded is looking attainable. With that in mind, we could go for sub 15
That Chelsea side had conceded 2 goals after 10 games, we’ve conceded 3. It’s a big ask, but it is gettable. If I had to bet, I’d say we won’t manage it, but it’s not crazy to think that we have a decent chance, better than anyone else has in the couple decades since 04/05. But given how long its been since we won a major honour though, I’m really not going to get invested in breaking any records, just getting over the line is more than enough for me.
While ten games is a bit of a small sample size, it does represent a quarter of the season, and we have played our two biggest rivals, so it’s not like this is just us shutting up shop against poor sides in a favourable run of fixtures. It’s also clearly not some sort of outlier, as we’ve been a defensively brilliant team for some time now, that’s kind of what we’re all about these days.
Not relevant to the above, but in checking goals conceded I noticed that we’ve scored 6 more goals than that Chelsea side and are two points better off than them.
Arsenal of 04/05 had scored 29 goals by this point though
(10 conceded, same points total we have now: 8 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss)
I don’t think we ever played better football than we did in the early stages of 04/05. Unreal stuff.
It’s crazy that this record is even in question considering how much in favour of the attackers this modern game is
