Arsenal Defence - Discussion

Who are our weakest defensive options now? MLS (England international)? Mosquerra (started brilliantly and Spanish youth team caps)?

Our quality and depth is ridiculous.

And that’s still with players like Havertz, White and Jesus (annd Madueke?) out injured.

I was thinking more in terms of our defensive options, but yes, we have quality out in attack as well.

I’d suggest that Saliba, Gabriel, Timber, White are all at or in the verge of world class. I’d only put Saka there in terms of our forwards.

When players the quality of White, MLS and Mosquera are on the Bench, you know you’ve got a good defence.

This is probably as good as the defensive unit Graham assembled that won so many trophies for him and Wenger.

I want to see Hincapie, but overall, I don’t think there is a weak link now in the options we have in the back four. You could say that MLS hasn’t been as good so far this season, as last, but then he hasn’t had a run of games because Calafiori has been starting. White also looked a bit ropey since he has come back into the team, but he offers something different from Timber going forward. I think we are in a really good place.

Also hats off to Berta for getting Mosquera so cheaply…already looks like a bargain!

Not sure about great but yeah, injuries plus the Bellerin coming through at the time pushed him down the pecking order through no real fault of his own.

Isn’t that just because West Ham didn’t land a single shot on target lol

Didn’t understand the 3 guys I was watching the game with still being nervous after we went 2-0. I told them West Ham hadn’t had a shot on target in 70 mins, how were they suddenly gonna score 2 goals? :joy:

Awful performance from the hammers, kind of ā€˜solid’ at the back by their standards but didn’t even try to attack.

Yep just a nerd ass way of saying that.

Expected Game of Thrones is my fave stat. Seeing very high numbers right now after the Dunc and Egg trailer dropped.

We have a world class defensive unit now. The whole mentality of the team is elite when it comes to defending.

I’d love us to take Chelsea’s record away from them for the 2004/05 season where they conceded only 15 goals.

We need to win the title or this record worth nothing.

Will surely go down as the best CB partnership in the world of this decade.

The Great Wall of Arsenal. Took around 5 years to build and its legacy will possibly never be destroyed.

The goals conceded record is Chelsea’s version of the invincibles. Would be amazing if we matched or even broke it :joy:
