American Presidential Election 2024

Trump probably super happy Cheney didn’t endorse him

When you look at his ensemble with Vivek (your favourite), Tulsi, RFK they are literally diametrically opposed to Cheney.

I thought Trump was unlucky to lose the election because of his handling of pandemic.

Now I think he got lucky for not being the president overlooking vaccine distribution, Russia Ukraine war and Israel Palestine conflict.

He can swoop in now and looked at as a miracle worker because things can only improve from here even if Trump wants to fuck it up.

I’ll bite. How exactly? Because on policy they’re all the same.

And none of those people you listed are elected officials. Tulsi is the closest being a former politician.

Most of them are against the proxy wars the U.S. is currently involved in.

RFK is pro Israel but he is anti Covid-vaccine which goes against everything the establishment politicians stand for.

Vivek clashed with Nikki Haley multiple times on the Ukraine war. It’s why establishment types likes Nikki Haley to be the nominee. Vivek wants that war to stop - America first isolationist. Opposed of a Cheney. Same for Tulsi there. I don’t know now what RFK’s stance is on that conflict.

Also tulsi and rfk used to be democrats or democrat-leaning independents

Addendum @KITN - tulsi also rinsed Harris in the dem primary in 2016. Calling her out for her time as a DA incarcerating many minorities as well for small offenses such as marihuana possession

To say a person like tulsi and Cheney don’t differ on policy I think is not true at all.

I give my piece here instead of other platforms because reddit/x sucks for discussing anything.

OA is still is very old school in it’s approach to discussion. Sadly a dying medium.

Unless they’ve actually voted against DoD funding or against involvement in war then it’s all talk to look good for the camera. These ghouls are fundamentally self interested and war is profitable.

RFK is a nut and has been promised control over healthcare. An unqualified fail son weirdo who runs in the same circles as all of the other rapey elites.

Plenty of neo-fascists have claimed to be former democrats but just couldn’t deal with the “woakism” so they decided to go far right. It’s a bullshit copout to hide the fact that they’re just power hungry elites riding whatever wave gets them close to power—even if it’s undemocratic and authoritarian.

I disagree here. You short selling them because they chose to run with Trump.

Matter of the fact is, Cheney and the neocons don’t like Trump and his people for obvious reasons. That’s why they were embraced by the democrats instead. And it was a pretty stupid move on behalf of the democrats to tout them as some sort of great endorsement.

I think there was pressure from dem elites for Harris to take it. Part of that was to retain donor money Biden raised. Harris also believed she could do it. But it really was a choice of ‘yes’ or ‘yes’.

In the end a candidate that can’t get anywhere in a primary was obviously ludicrous. But the dem platform I don’t think it was Harris idea but was the establishment who got cocky and thought ‘we’re not trump’ would work again.

Desperate attempt to take some middling republican voters, went really well :upside_down_face::rofl:

I have more than a dozen friends used to support Democrats but chose to vote for Trump because Dems were doing a terrible job; and Harris wasn’t a better candidate.

They still hate Trump in their blood.

It was a competition of a lesser evil, always do.

Still not a peep from Harris after her swift exit last night :eyes:

Cheney and the neo-cons are in the back seat of the Republican Party while the trumpists are driving. The car is still the same though.

Trumps first administration provided results the Republicans could only dream of. Trillion dollar tax cuts, deregulation, ending Iran deal and other international agreements (Paris Climate Agreement), Jerusalem, more drones, mass deportations, and on and on.

Do you think Vivek and the rest will have the balls to go against any of these?

Arizona overnight gone to a 5% lead for Trump with 63% in

Nevada looking like a Republican flip, 4% lead for Trump with 86% in

Nevada hasn’t been won by a Republican since Bush in 2004

Michigan not called yet but looks like Trump has it in the bag.

Again this is bigger than Arab voters, Dems absolutely got washed everywhere.

Trump still has a 5m popular vote lead.

How bad Biden/Harris in the past 4 years…

I don’t think you got it right.

There is a reason why neoconservatives and its media empire hates Trump and turned against him. They can’t control him the way they can control Biden, Harris and Nikki Haley etc.

I don’t say Trump doesn’t do any of these things at all. At the end he is not a dictator (lol) and he can’t just do what he wants and he will be restricted to change too much too fast.

But I absolutely think you’re wrong to say those aforementioned people don’t differ in policy from a Cheney. They a 100% do.

That’s why Cheney endorsed Kamala and the democrats welcomed her.

Neocon republicans and democrats hate Trump.

Let’s see what comes from this all. Will be interesting times ahead.

I find this man’s takes unimpeachable. But the section on why sane Americans of all backgrounds vote Trump really felt like it resonated.

Also, I don’t watch Trump speak a lot but I feel that while his language hasn’t massively changed, his delivery has. I feel like he’s intentionally toned down some of the over the top oration and realised that a slightly calmer delivery of the same message with bring more undecideds on board. His victory speech this morning actually sounded somewhat presidential.

Isn’t he still having a tantrum about his discovery that the US isn’t a particularly popular country globally?

You have to watch a Trump rally to understand it (if you can tolerate him obviously). The cut up pieces thrown up on X only show off the bullshit he’s says. He actually speaks rather smoothly and gets the crowd engaged in what he’s saying. It’s like watching a charismatic heel wrestler cut a promo, the ridiculous stuff said (which is a lot) just gets blurred as you get more invested in the speech.

Because he’s so willing to lie, he ends up being good at improvising, I think it was the Milwaukee rally his Microphone stopped working and he improvised and turned it into a speech about ‘people bad at their jobs should be fired, just like we’re going to do to the Democrats’
