Alexander Isak

It would have been proper Lemar for 92 million levels of desperation. Now don’t get me wrong I’d like Isak here but it would need to be on our terms.

We should have gone for him much earlier in the window.
He looks to be a player who is about to start peaking and then it would be difficult to get him in.

Hopefully we are more decisive in summer.

The price…

Interesting

Wilson suits Newcastle quite well as atarter

Made of glass tho

Will be good to see how he comes in the PL. I’m not sure many attainable strikers for us will be an improvement on Jesus but I’d like to see how the guy we looked heavily in for at one point does. And not at our expense :vinai:

Exactly and Wood has dropped off and isn’t the same profile, very interested to see what Isak will bring to the PL

Well this came out of the blue. I guess money talks more then playing in the EL and Newcastle hardly have any trophy aspirations with the current squad. Feels like a step back atm, but in a couple of years maybe a step up.

Well Real Sociedad have won something like one major trophy in the last 40 or so years so if I’m Isak I’m looking at a club with unlimited resources and exposure in the most watched league on earth (plus a healthy pay packet) as being a much better prospect than the odd EL finish with a sometimes push for 4th that doesn’t materialise.

I think it’s even been over a decade since they made a rare appearance in the CL so right now I’d say Newcastle look the much likelier team to win a trophy

Yeah that’s valid

Forgot they signed Wood for decent money last year

That paycheck just hits different when you know it comes from a guy who had someone chopped up in an embassy.

Just…that. Thank you for putting better than I could.

No footballer is turning down Newcastle if you don’t play for an elite club.

Not one of us would either lol

Well I wasn’t questioning the PL’s status (as I said money talks). Atleast RS won the copa del ray 2020, what was Newcastles last trophy? Intertoto cup 20 years ago I think. And as I said it might show to be a smart move by Isak in a couple of years. But immediate success for a new-rich club is rare.

I would

Nice for the Toon, really boosts them. Another huge get like when they got Bruno in January.

Hugely interested to see how he does in the PL.

A very talented athlete, also very good technical skills and dribbing, but doesn’t really know how to behave like a true number 9 still and his finishing is incosistent at best. If he could improve in those areas he could be quite a weapon. Generally, he’s a more talented footballer than Nunez, no doubt imo.

Even as he is now he’ll be a massive boost for Newcastle.

That one still burns. We could have and should have been all over that deal.
