Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alright so it is just hand waving. Just sell bad players and buy world class players, how did no one think of that. I haven’t said anything about Ox’s skill, I was just curious if you actually had any solution to your problem/explanation for how to do it or if it was just the general idea which as soon as you start asking questions about it ends up at “idno AFC can do it”. Why not just buy Messi?

So I guess we’re back to counting the Community Shield as a proper trophy then?

Why would we need to buy a HG player if we sold Oxlade? We’re under the 17 non-HG player quota and have 9 HG not including Bellerin or Iwobi who both started the season u21.

Holding, Walcott, Ox, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Martinez, Iwobi, Ramsey.

Wilshere, Szczesny, Chambers are on loan.

Not sure about Bellerin & Coquelin.

But it’s no desperate concern for us to hold onto players just because they are homegrown.
If there is a crunch, there is no need to go 50m on Stones, we can simply purchase Holding for what? 5m?

We don’t have to, we could get away with it once and that would be our 18 non-HG, sure. He also gave an example (sell Debuchy, register Chambers). It was the rest of the part that was my main concern, but you’re right, HG would be good but it is not a necessity.

It’s not a ‘cool summer breeze’, it’s a big ‘what if’. Alexis btw doesn’t just have overdribbling moments, he has pure brain fart moments himself, passing to the opposition etc.

As for Chamberlain’s development we have to ask ‘has he had enough game time to develop’?

It really doesn’t matter, as I said all that is forgiven because of what he ultimately brings to the table and it’s something Chamberlain cannot replicate.

Chamberlain has had his injuries but what player hasn’t? He’s been at a top club for soon to be six years and has made incremental improvements if any at all, in fact you can say he’s regressed. Soon he’ll be entering a stage (25 plus) where it’s not about development anymore. The Pulisic’s, Dembele’s and Rashford’s get to pull that card, people will be still banging on about his “development” when he’s 26.

He’s only had 74 starts in the PL/CL since he moved, that’s not allot and it’s undoubtably impeded his development.

Currently he is producing on the pitch, if he continue to improve he’ll be a very good player to have. If he goes back to his prior level then criticism is warranted.

Another great game tonight.

We must be the envy of the PL with him in our team!!!

Great??
How great???

Those are the breaks at a top team, barring injuries you earn it or you don’t play.

He hasn’t been given the opportunities because he isn’t good enough.

Did you not see the way he done absolutely nothing? Thats world class right there!:clap::clap:

Sorry, I could see the sarcasm there…
It was even worse that some of us do really believe he is good enough…

@ronniec did you watch the game buddy? The entire team deserving of some criticism imo.

Once we scored it was just, lazy.

Think the Ox proved my point tonight, he was beyond garbage, lost the ball every time he touched it and never won as much as a throw in

how the farking hell he gets a start for the arsenal is baffling

Cause Wenger

How fantastic were Alexis and Ozil tonight? Collectively we were utter shit

I did watch the game
The entire team played shit is one thing, Ox is shit (as usual) is another.

Ox thread being busy is fucking stupid given the state of Ozil tonight tbh.

@Calum I know Ox didn’t have a good game, but man no one did. Collectively we were just out gunned. So harsh to focus on one dude who has otherwise been in decent form lately.

God, watch that bullshit written in the daily mail tomorrow.

By using other’s performance to get excuses of not playing good is simply bad.
