He really didn’t need to do that. In fact, anyone with a british accent doesn’t need to make rap music

Well it’s very fortunate he’s got professional footballer as a back up.

IDK, the verse Dizzee Rascal drops in How Love Begins by DJ Fresh is pretty good. I think he’s a Spurs fan though.

Not as bad, but he supports West Ham

What a ridiculous statement! As somebody who idolised East Coast rappers as a youth, UK rappers have the edge in the American rappers now (opinion).

The world didn’t need an Iwobi song though.

One of the worst things I’ve ever listened to

Dizzee Rascal is a British institution these days

Dizzie Rascal and Boy In A Corner were a great moment in time. As a rapper (he’s more of an MC anyway), he’s nowhere near the best.

UK rap has been in the bin for years. The US still produces significantly better rappers (opinion).

Should we just rename this thread the shit music thread?

But we already have a Hip-hop thread :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Rap has gone downhill overall imo with the rise of mumblecore and beats that are designed to play in the background of a Xbox lobby screen.

The last interesting album I heard was Coast Contra’s ā€œThe Old Way Mixtapeā€ which is outstanding.

Didn’t know they had an album? Their freestyles have been a breath of fresh air.

I’m checking for a new Wretch, Kano, Ghetts, Jhus, Dave or Potter Payper album before any US artist to be honest.

Have you been hacked by @Phoebica mate?

Sorry bud, it’s already been confirmed, British accents don’t sound cool or tough.

How are white kids from suburban homes supposed to feel tough if they’re listening to rap made by a bloke from dumblebumbleshire?

I believe - within the second tier of PL players, Iwobi is among the best right now.

That’s been the case for some time.

To be honest I was a bit pissed when Emery let him go. For all his faults at that time, he was still a very capable squad player, home grown, and still to enter his peak years.
