Life is fair after all.
Adama, Richarlison, Rashford, Mahrez, whatever Chelsea winger he pocketed (CHO I think) and now Salah in his pocket.
Will have no problem with that Argentinian midget either.
As much as I love Hector, and I really love him, I’m starting to think our best bet is to keep AMN and sell Bellerin. Maybe PSG want to lure him to the fashion capital of Europe? I realize his value has probably never been lower but still…losing AMN for peanuts when we have other potential assets to sell is frustrating.
Hector was a baller today too btw. Good performance against City and Chelsea too.
Arteta is doing wonders ffs. Guy is up there with Pep and Klopp.
Keep both, sell Cedric.
It might sound weird, but I prefer AMN playing as a left wing back, than as a right wing back.
That really is the right move. That Cedric deal is looking worse every day. Fuck Raul.
Never doubted my guy AMN.
Same. I never got the hate for some one who has been playing out of position for nearly two seasons now. He has been very solid during that period. Today just proved why we need some one like him in our team.
100% he looks so assured in the role.
Almost all wingers cut in from the right (see Salah, Pepe). Having a right footer there is fine, especially when Auba is making the runs inside, rather than out.
AMN has to stay.
I’m sure I read we only signed Cedric as AMN was 90% leaving in the January window and we needed a new backup
Yep, and there were questions over Bellerin’s form as well. I remember he was dropped at some point with Mustafi and Papa actually filling in as RB. That’s when the rumours about AMN started, everyone found it weird how AMN wasn’t getting in the team when Bellerin wasn’t picked.
On a side note, I like how different the profiles of Bellerin, AMN and Cedric are, defensively and offensively.
At the end of the day having Cedric in the squad who was a free transfer and not on the highest wages shouldn’t be a reason for selling AMN or Bellerin.
Bellerin is injury prone and AMN is the ultimate utility player, so it just means if Bellerin gets injured we can bring in Cedric and still have that utility option
For me the only point is if we need the money from AMN/Bellerin sales to fund new signings, then it becomes a tough decision.
AMN probably has more potential both naturally and to be moulded by Arteta and would likely sell for less than Bellerin, so if I had to choose I’d sell Bellerin
This guy has bags of ability and is one helluva athlete. That’s why he is so versatile. For me, he has a much higher ceiling than Bellerin.
The biggest difference between him and Bellerin is that he has more courage on the ball, more beleif in himself. Bellerin tends to panic in tight situations, but not Ainsley. Probably why he sometimes gives the ball away. I know I would rather see Ainsley play on the right than Hector.
The Cedric signing doesn’t make any sense at all, I see some people saying it’s because AMN was leaving in January but we signed Cedric end of the season, after AMN had played in the cup. Cedric was a crappy loan and for the life of me I can’t understand how he got that turned into a permanent deal here.
Cedric was a sweetener to keep Kia Joorabchians palms greased and to keep him friendly.
He was not a free transfer people.
Club perhaps felt embarrassed that they spent a shit load for a loan deal of 4 games.
Technically he was a free transfer, it was a loan fee that we paid. Either way we paid the money, but in reality the total cost to us including salary was £5m (which would have mainly been salary), so I don’t really see why we’re debating a couple of million anyway…
The point is he was brought in for a position which was sorted with Bellerin and AMN being there.
Loan fee or not, he cost us 5m. That 5m could have been used in much better way than we did here.
over the course of his contract if we don’t sell him, we will end up spending 10-15m on him.
