Yeah, but why do that when you could potentially play them together when Bellerín comes back. Emery will be keen to get another DM in the side.
I criticized Maitland-Niles so many times, but what he said during this interview offer a new argument to debate.
Emery wants to play a type of (non) football without having the right men to do that. Very stubborn management.
Very useful to have a defensive midfielder who can’t defend or pass
AMN is clearly pissed at having to play RB
The lad’s the epitome of a water carrier, he’d be worse in midfield
‘‘Everyone else gets to play their position, so hopefully I will too’’
Yes, in the Championship
Reckon he’s worried he will be forgotten once Bellerin comes back in the side. With the uncertainty around the midfield he can surely have a go there.
Haha exactly, kid should be thanking his lucky stars he’s at Arsenal to begin with. He should be refining his defending and working on it every day. Yet he’s coming out with shit like oh well it’s not my position.
I get he’s got a pretty aloof attitude but honestly when you watch him on the pitch it just looks like he doesn’t care.
I think it’s a matter of us being in a position where we have a highly prioritised RB (Bellerin) who is out for a long time and we did not prioritise getting what would long-term just be a RB backup this window as we had other positions that were more urgent, so we kind of scavaged for a temporary solution within the ranks to just ride it out until Bellerin is back. If we were City we could’ve bought another £50m FB and put there and let them battle it out, we can’t (or, it isn’t right to prioritise).
But that we can’t conjure a better RB than a midfielder in AMN as backup for the time being is a bit weird tbh… I mean, who’s playing RB in the youth team and how is he worse than AMN at that position? I trust our youth coaches have a good understanding of the situation but it makes you wonder.
He was an attacking midfielder 3 years ago, ofcourse he is pissed
Never a yellow.
Yep, should be a red even.
Regardless, dumb challenge to be doing 30 minutes after getting the first yellow.
How? Honestly don’t see it.
Regardless of if he won the ball or not, it was a dangerous challenge.

Hopefully this brings an end to the pathetic saga of playing this kid at RB. If only we had been proactive enough to replace Bel properly in January, how different things might have been.
Stay down
For those who have read fever pitch let me assure you Gus Ceasar was never this bad.
