Is his contract up this summer?
2023
Willock was in a similar boat. No game time, moves out, becomes an asset.
Loaning AMN out makes sense but if it involves an obligation to buy for a measly fee, then fuck that.
True and that’s where the problem lies we don’t want to send him out with a shit buyout clause but we all know he won’t get game time here
Such terrible numbers, close to the point of it being silly to sell.
wtf is €10m ffs
Looks like we’re stalling.
Forgot they paid 40m for that useless forward. What a joke.
10m€ loan ? taking the piss here, while they’ll be throwing 25m£ for a Liverpool unknown who never played with the first team.
I just find that Italian clubs don’t pay much for players, anyway, nor do they want to break their precious wage structure.
Remember when we were going to sell RvC and Juventus were one of the clubs interested? They wanted to give us 8mil for him
So true. We are known for selling cheap. We should just play hardball with these cheap cunts.
We were going to pay the same money if not more for that useless forward if Chelsea wasn’t insisting on selling him abroad.
I don’t know why we should be dealing with Roma anyway, I mean what have the Romans ever done for us?
Horrible Histories
And education, irrigation and roads
Loan with no option isn’t the worst thing to happen, hopefully a few good performances in Italy will drum up some interest for him in the summer.
Still not sure why he isn’t being used as second choice RB and given Elneny’s minutes in midfield.
Would much prefer to keep him and use him as the utility man, with the potential to be a bigger influence at CM.
CM will be pretty short during AFCON. Ainsley isn’t an established CM but it would seem negligent to let him go while AFCON is ongoing, unless we have a new CM in, which I see no signs of happening at the moment.
Seems insane to let him go unless a replacement is already lined up.
If Xhaka or Sambi gets injured or comes down with Covid, its either throw Patino into the fire or play a 4-3-3 with both Ode and ESR as the 8s. While the latter sounds sexy in theory we have never really been good in that formation. All of our recent progress has had a double pivot platform to build off and junking that for 4-3-3 right now doesn’t seem like a great idea.
Yeah it is pretty mental.
Xhaka, Sambi and Ødegaard at a push as our only 3 CMs?
That’s madness unless we are certain to bring in a new body.
Feels a bit shitty to reject the bid on the basis that we might need him versus Burnley.
What if both Xhaka and Lokonga get injured? Ben White, Patino, and Odegaard can deputise.
Burnley I don’t worry about too much because we actually played the 4-3-3 against them in September and it worked well because they are a nothing team that doesn’t really try to do anything through the center. I’m pretty confident we could line up like that and just overrun them, especially at home.
But it seems really dumb to potentially play the NLD, maybe the biggest match remaining in the season, with either Patino starting or using a new formation we’re not comfortable with.
