I’d say Barca are #1 but this season even they have dropped off significantly in that department.
They’re also pretty poor defensively.

PSG are a bit overrated in that area.
Sure they smashed Inter in that final but when we played them we created the better chances in both games and they had to thank Donnarumma for putting all timer performances.
Same against Villa.
Then at the Club World Cup they got extremely lucky against Bayern and eventually got slapped by Chelsea.

Maybe Bayern deserves a shout but we saw them when they came to Emirates. They’re good but not that good.

Meh, Barca have obviously been an objectively very attractive football team for a while now but ive never been able to stand watching them cos of all the diving and cheating.

they spend more time on the floor and complaining than they actually play football.

Or as @RockyMaivia would call it, FRAUDS??

Obviously, we shouldn’t care how we win it, but yes, it does feel a bit like we are winning it by default, assuming we win it.

Most of us are disappointed with the last two results, but we still took the most points in the last 5 games.

Nah all we heard last season was about how Liverpool had made their own luck and were the best team over 38 games etc. That will apply to us too.

I understand people not enjoying the football, feeling frustrated about how we haven’t made the most of this run etc. But nah, the most deserving team wins it every time. There’s no such thing as default in this league.

Liverpool won a lot of games last season that they shouldn’t have.

Bar the opening match against United, I don’t recall any game where I came out thinking we were lucky to come out of that game with whatever points we gained.

We are not frauds, we are just not amazing to watch.

For first title in 22 years, I will make do. I would say Teta should think about getting one or two elite attacking players to make that next step of being remembered as an amazing title winning side.

Odd enough, I won’t be surprised if we did a double with this not so amazing team.

Arsenal fans love self-punishment.

For all the banter thrown at the Liverpool fans for last season’s win and their COVID cup, do you think they care?

Not a jot.

Let’s not forget the massive Salah carryjob too.

When City won the treble there were debates even up until February and March about them not being the same and handing the title to us. Haaland was was getting blamed for their fall.
Pep himself was giving interviews saying he doesn’t recognise his team.
Fast forward a couple months later they made history.

I agree with all your points. But that Wolves game man, that was squeaky.

If we win, I certainly won’t be upset with being a ‘poorer’ team to win it.

But I thought he was jealouzzz of Arteta!? :eyes:

Again that’s why I keep saying this ‘easier fixtures to come’ shite is exactly that.

Liverpool hard on paper but well off it this season. Should win at home but always gonna be tough even off form.

Forest this season pretty shit so you’d think despite being away we should win. But they’ve picked up form in December, were top 3 for most of last season and historically get big game results.

Leeds coming up, away, having found form. Not an easy game. Brentford spurs and Brighton all away between mid Feb and mid March. Then wolves, who seem to be picking up form themselves now, away at the end of March.

Where are the easy fixtures? I see none, the gauntlet doesn’t stop.

Funny how the quality of the league only comes into question when Arsenal are top… it’s arguably harder to get points and score these days compared to any point in time. That doesn’t excuse Martinelli’s howler however

A clean injury record is one of the most unpredictable critical factors in a title race.

Whenever City and Liverpool won the league, they had their key players fit for the majority of the season.

Those cunts have finally suffered some normal (non PED / asthma inhaler enhanced) injuries.

We’re on target for high 80s, perhaps even 90+ if the team clicks. We absolutely deserve to be 7 points clear. Should be 10 were it not for last minute shit goals against Sunderland and Villa.

It’s not an average or weak league. It’s the strongest it has ever, ever been. Teams like Bournemouth, Brighton, Villa, Newcastle, Palace etc are all so hard to beat. The biggest transfer budgets, the best managers and the best players are all fighting for the same limited oxygen in this league.

7 points clear is a magnificent position to be in.

Yeah, I really wouldn’t think of us as poor champions if we do end up with the title.

We aren’t the most aesthetic one’s for sure, but definitely not amont the worst one’s overall.

Our creation is a bit disappointing, but when you look at the whole picture, you have to praise our defensive structure.

There is no doubt we are much better at controlling games than that Liverpool side of last year. We fully deserve the points we got, and with a bit of luck we could have had more no doubt.

I don’t think we had many lucky results/wins, while with Liverpool last year so many times I felt things went their way it those crucial moments, in many 50-50 games they played.

We had many ugly wins, but they were fully deserved.

If you go to compare, I don’t think we’re a worse team than the last couple of United teams that won the title.

Only arsenal fans would say this about their own team.

There is no such fucking thing.

Did you mean to say “wouldn’t” instead of “would”?

I know I said it might seem like we are winning it by default but I will take that all day, every day. I don’t care how we win it. And I don’t care if we are the most boring side to watch as long as we keep winning.

Ffs, yeah, I meant wouldn’t lol

My brain works much faster than my fingers when I type lol

And I hate the shitty keyboard on my phone.
