25/26 Title race šŸ†

All this chat about the league is way too premature.

It’s only October, and you only have to look to recent seasons to see us bottle the lead from first place.

It looks very promising, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

Been burnt way too many times.

Nah, I am confident we will be champions, and by some distance.

We are not the team that bottles under pressure anymore. And no team in this league is capable of pushing us all the way. They are all way too inconsistent.

City are the only threat but they’ve lost their aura. Rodri is finished, KDB is gone, their defense has improved but they cannot match our resilience, chemistry and resourcefulness. Haaland alone will not be enough.

Our depth is huge. Everyone else looks out of pace already, I can only see the gap widening as the calender congests.

On balance that still seems like a favorable run of fixtures, especially compared to what we’ve just been through in the first nine.

The November/December and early new year run is brutal for all clubs. It’s great to get this head start in place right now for some momentum for when it starts getting a bit shaky.

The injury news is looking promising with Kai, Ƙde and Madueke looking to come back late November. So far, the current squad has dealt with games in a professional way. So with those guys coming back into offer some different strengths will be a big boost.

Ultimately our squad depth this season could be the difference in clinching a title finally. We were running on fumes by the time Saka, Ƙdegaard, Kai and even Jesus were injured last season. Had a RB in Timber being run into the ground because Blanco was permacrocked. We now have the depth to roll with the blows this time around and with some bloody luck, those injuries will cool down this season anyway.

Feeling confident on the outset. Not naive to think we have a title wrapped up at this point by any means, that’s being driven by opposition fans/pundits.

Indeed but there’s a different vibe this year. We’re not getting lucky winners in the dying minutes of games like 22/23.

If we just focus on the next game and getting a W I think we’ll continue building a gap between the other league contenders. They’ll likely slip up so we have to be there to capitalize.

That team really could’ve got 100+ points if they went for it more in some games.

Tbh we have only really been burnt maybe a couple of times since the Invincibles season. 22/23 because we had a big lead. 07/08 was similar but that United team was better than us. 15/16 we could have won it.

Every other time I feel like there has been a better team out there than us and for a lot of the late Wenger years, we were quite far off it.

This team feels like the best-equipped team to win the title that we have had since 03/04.

Now that our greatest title rival drop 2 points leaving them 8 points behind, I am even more confident now.

A draw for Bournemouth tomorrow would do that, have you seen the future?

If anything is going to get us, it’s the injuries. The depth has disguised how badly we’re being hit but we are down to the bare bones up front already, and we’re not exactly clear in the other areas of the pitch either. I’m a bit worried.

If we were heading into the Christmas period, I would be seriously concerned it I’m loving the fact that the likes of Havertz, Jesus and Odegaard will be fresh. Gyokeres and Eze have played a lot of football and are now integrated. I haven’t forgotten about Madueke returning either.

Our midfield feels like a ticking time bomb though as Zubi and Rice have played a lot of football.

Hopefully we see a lot of MLS in midfield to ease the minutes.

I’d like to see this. I’m assuming that the Hincapie was partly for this reason. CB cover and left back option leaving MLS as a midfield option and LB cover.

I wouldn’t even be adverse to Zinny coming back in January as a back up midfielder. He’s been crap at Forest but he’s never been a good left back.

Just move on

Don’t misunderstand my words for thinking Zinny is the bees knees but it is a long season and he’s and International Captain in central midfield.

Can see Forest terminating the loan if it’s an option. Zinny and Norgaard for cup games or to see out league games would be lovely.

Stop trying to get your boys off the hook. They’re stuck with him and his wages til the end of the season.

Marinakis would probably pay a portion of his Mafia money to just send him back to be honest.

I sure hope City can do us a favour today :henry2:
