2020 United States Presidential Election

Idk what @sevchenko is smoking but I’d like some. There is absolutely no reason to doubt the efficacy of mail in voting. We have states that conduct most of their voting by mail anyway.

Adding in the health risks associated with COVID, the fact that Republicans have made concerted efforts to limit the number of polling places in urban areas and the fact that Election Day is not a universal work holiday, mail-in voting should be preferred anyway.

If you check the DOJ website they have breakdowns of the types of cases they investigate. I’d be shocked if mail-in voting is anywhere near the top of the list.

Pre COVID only 5 states used universal mail in voting as a default, ie registered voters were sent their ballots automatically, that’s increasing to 10 states now. 37 states have changed the rules to some degree to make it easier to vote by mail.

You’re being disingenuous if you see no issues at all with the changes to the system. A presidential election has not been contested with such a high level of votes by mail, in 2016 only 24% of counted votes came through this method.

It’s valid to question the ability of USPS to handle the load, There will be a higher number of people claiming they’ve being disenfranchised and a higher % of votes will be “lost”

There’s a reason voting in person is the default and preferred, everybody should be on high alert. The issues with gerrymandering and tapering with the voting process is a separate matter.

When can you vote via mail? Does it start one week before Election Day? Two weeks? Three weeks?

Just yesterday Trump was telling voters to cast their votes twice. Imagine that, your President encouraging citizens to commit a felony.

No he said post your ballets but to make sure vote in person to make sure, because when they process the ballet it see you’ve voted just in case of gerrymandering.

Don’t you think that’s reasonable?

No, he is encouraging double voting and that increases the chances of miscount or increases the load of counting.

He is a president with resources. Get a proper process in place.

The ballet gets removed if you already voted, meaning it’s not counted.

Bottom line is he’s a crook. So when he gives advice, it’s crooked.

Recently a few people has been prosecuted for voter fraud and in one state 20-30% of the mail in votes were not valid. Some did not arrive on time or at all and that was a small sample size of 50k+. My question is if it’s failing on such a small sample size why would it work and be much safer on a national level? Also if health experts are saying it’s ok to vote in person why the push for mail in voting? Surely if you can que in the supermarket you can que to vote

Convenience I’d guess.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s that :joy:

The voter fraud in mail in ballots has been debunked time and again. The obvious reason for postal voting in a pandemic is to stop the spread of covid. So what does Trump do when he’s down in the polls. Defunds the post office

No it was not do research man people got put in jail for it both rep and dem

Provide evidence that 20-30% of votes were fraudulant.

Paterson New Jersey 20% of the votes were disqualified. 65% nation wide postal ballots were not delivered, California 100k were not counted due to technical issue (signature not match etc). 2012 New York Times article had a piece where it sighted mail voting increases errors in voting.

None of that equates to voter fraud. If anything it accounts to vote counting fraud, which is an entirely different kettle of fish.

I knew you were going to say that :smirk: congressman Michael j Ozzie Myers of philly got charged last month for ballot stuffing :joy:

Soooo…one guy?
