2016/17 FA Cup

Or just take a ladder and look over onto their ground…

Yeah it’s gonna be interesting. Defo a TV tie anyway.

Depends who has the first pick. If BBC have it yes. If BT have it it’ll be on BT.

Praying BBC have it!

@DutchGooner

BBC originally picked United then when Lincoln won their replay they wanted to change it. FA then said no.

TV picks are down to BBC and BT

They’ve got Craig Eastmond and Roarie Deacon. 2 ex-Arse youths.

Does anyone know at what point the ground-switching thing stopped happening?

Arsenal vs Farnborough was hilarious, but of course that was originally drawn out of the hat as Farnborough vs Arsenal

Good point, I think Arsenal V Sutton would be hugely beneficial for everybody involved

Roarie Deacon was terrorising the Leeds yoof, he’s clearly a couple of levels above the Conference

Eastmond presumably is at least football league standard, the benefits of your non-league club being situated in London I guess. Think he was at Colchester for quite a while.

The FA put a stop to it very soon after we did it. A shame because a home game for us would set Sutton up for years. The clubs split the gate evenly in the FA Cup I believe.

Still, seeing us away at a non league ground will be quite something, even on TV. I wouldn’t mind a replay actually, I’d definitely buy a ticket.

Yeah, I guess it’s one of those where Sutton’s preferred order of results is: draw, win, loss

Can’t believe we managed to get Sutton after all :joy: That’s what the FA Cup’s all about, playing teams you’d never imagine going up against.

That Farnborough match must’ve been the last time we played a non League side in the cup. As @Leper says, I think put out a similar team to Southampton and get the job done there and then  Don’t think there’s much point fielding a complete team of youths, a nice mixture of both will do.

Some very interesting ties this round. All the main teams are playing away. So far, no home games for us this season.

Whatever team we do put out, I guarantee:-

A) it won’t have Sanchez in it

B) someone will moan about how we’re disrespecting Sutton/the Fa Cup by not having Sanchez in it

:sunglasses:

My home town is Colchester so I follow them and go and watch them quite a lot even though I don’t live there anymore.

Eastmond was decent for them. We loaned him to them and then they bought him so he obviously made a good impression. When they released him it was an odd decision from a fan’s point of view, especially seeing as they went on to get relegated and are now in league 2/fourth tier for the first time in about 20 years.

I chatted to Sanchez Watt in a pub once - he also played for Arsenal and Colchester, and like Eastmond got dropped by Colchester. He seemed to have an issue with how Colchester was run.

Anyway, it’ll be nice to check up on Eastmond again.

Ah okay, thought BBC was overruled by the FA what seemed weird anyway, considering the power TV networks have when it comes to picking their games.

Love this. Us playing in our away kits, even though it’s at Highbury

Great draw, makes it interesting for a change and we finally get a real underdog to play against!

They play on an artificial mind.

Can’t wait to see us play here lol gonna be a big change from the usual.

To be fair that ground is still better than Dinamo Zagreb, FC Thun and about half a dozen others I could mention

It’s a derby as well

Nah we defo can’t take Özil or Sanchez there. I mean, really?! Look at the state of it. They probably have changing rooms like we had at school!
