Football Songs

One based on Bobby McFerrin’s ‘Don’t worry be happy’ (had to put the dos in)

Do do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do
Do do do do do
Up the arsenal!

Or the last line could be replaced with anything really - “martinelli”, “Kieran Tierney”, “super Eddie”

New song for our ace captain!

He moves like Berg-kamp, He sees like Zeee-daaan, Martin Odergaard, he’s our Cap-i-tan!

Just found this section! I’ve been posting songs under ‘the crossbar/football songs’. I’ll start from here next time. You can never have too many songs, so it’d great if folk would go over and take a look…and one or two could be adopted… Here’s one to be going on with (weather dependent obviously)…to the tune of ‘singing in the rain’

I’m singing in the rain. Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feeling, I’m happy again
I’m laughing at the clowns, the clowns from white Hart lane
Just singing and dancing in the rain

Possibly add an intro of do do do do do, you know ‘that bit’ of the song

You had it right first time.

Hello fellow gooners. Surprised I haven’t heard this tune too often at any ground. ‘If you’re happy and you know it’. If enough 8 syllable phrases can be thought of before “clap your hands”, this could go on for some time!

If you’re a gooner and you know it clap your hands
(Repeat)
If you’re arsenal and you know it
and you really want to show it
If you’re a gooner and you know it clap your hands

If you love to hate the Tottenham clap your hands…

Etc etc - suggest the third stays the same each time

(Yet) another song! Matching the tune of ‘the Addams family’ theme…

We’re crazy and we’re barmy
Mikel arteta’s army
We built a brand new armoury
Across from Highbury
Do do do do
Do do do do
Do do do do do do do do
Do do do do
And then there was the season
That we were undefeated
And 49 unbeaten
The boys from Highbury!

He’s here, he’s there, he’s every-fucking-where
Zinchenko. Zinchenko

Naaaaaah that doesnt work, mate.

Not enough syllables in Zinchenko

Are you sure??? Zin-chen-ko…seems ok to me…

Need 5 syllables. We had a similar song for Nuh-wan-kwo Ka-nu.

Worked a treat

just change the name of this thread to @powder.dry’s football songs

Lol I admit I’ve been thinking of these for some time. Bugged me how arsenal was considered quiet or we had no songs. Don’t want to be like City or villa or Southampton etc with one song. So, I’m happy to share a few more to throw it back in those faces that questioned us

Get in Nelson you little diamond!!!

Short song today, inspired by Mel and Kim’s ‘respectable’

Tay tay tay tay t-t-t-t-t tay tay
Take or leave us only please believe us
You ain’t never gonna be invincible
Times will change but still one fact remains
That you ain’t never gonna be invincible

:musical_note: ten hag are u listening…to the song that we’re singing…we’re 14 in front you bald headed c**t walking in a Mikel wonderland :musical_note:

Cracking!

problem is you just know he doesnt want to

Double headed today. Been working on a few I’m not quite satisfied with yet, so those to come.

Today we have, courtesy of East 17 ‘it’s alright’…

Ben white, Ben white
Everything’s gonna be alright
Ben white, Ben white
Everything’s gonna be alright
Ben white, Ben white
Everything’s gonna be alright
Ben white Ben white
Shout out for Ben white

And from Russ Abbott’s(!) ‘Atmosphere’…

Well it’s magic Thomas partey
And he’s wearing no.5
When he’s holding down the midfield
Makes the arsenal come alive
Woah woah let’s go let’s go
Ohh ohh ohh oh
He’s pulling strings out there
it’s magic Thomas partey pulling strings out there
Sometimes it’s seems unfair
But soon we’ll be dancing in the cool night air
He’s running rings out there
It’s magic Thomas partey running rings out there
Sometimes it’s seems unfair
But soon we’ll be dancing like we just don’t care

Working on this one for a while. Which is probably a good point as any to mention that any song can be improved…

An anthemic theme to this. Borrowed from ‘streets of london’, as written by Ralph McTell.

Streets of London

Have you seen the old stand near the closed down market
Highbury’s history
Deep in our roots
In our eyes you see the pride
Of London’s greatest ever side
Singing the glories of yesterday’s news

So how can you tell me you’re lonely
And say for you that the sun don’t shine
Let me take you to cross the land and lead you through the streets of London
We are the arsenal we’ll make you change your mind
