Good wrestler, not sure about worker.

Yeah, thats the thing, from a still image I can’t ascertain if hes skilled in the ring, if hes funny, charasmatic, works the mic well etc etc

But the clothes, physique, beard, hair… the image is just a bit underwhelming for me, none of it is impressive. Is there a gimmick, I can’t tell?

As I said, ā€œexcuse my ignoranceā€, cos I’m making snap judgements about his look and know nothing about him. I just dont see any star quality at a glance.

Glad Tony brought Regal in, along with some other guys he mentioned during the media scrum.
AEW is doing well but it can really use some great minds behind the curtains to help them filter that shit out.

His name is Kevin Owens(FKA Kevin Steen).
He’s a good promo guy that can ā€œgoā€ in the ring as in he can do a lot of ā€œcoolā€ moves. The psychology isn’t always there though.
He was brought in when WWE(Triple H) was going crazy with indy guys. He was initially booked as a big star and beat Cena on his debut which was a big deal back then. He won the Universal Title in 2016 but soon after he kind of fizzled out and is now moreso a utility guy like Miz, Ziggler, etc.

The connection with Steve Austin is that Kevin is now using the stunner(which looks like shit) as his finisher. He is also a guy that is easily disliked so the crowd will pop big when Steve whoops his ass at Mania.

Austin!! Austin!!!

Is it gonna be a match or just an arrive, stunner, leave type of deal?

Hopefully a decent match. Owens is good enough and big enough to make Austin look good. And Steve Austin is hugely protective of his character and legacy so no doubt he’s all in doing this properly

I think the best manifestation is the Stundog Millionaire by Darby lol

Yeah for sure. I can’t get into the product because there’s genuinely too many crappy guys on the show.

I hate how these Indy guys have pretty much devalued every move imaginable now. Nothing is protected.

Yep, ā€œshake hans and then we’ll sort this place out!ā€.
What a moment!

Very excited for Dynamite tomorrow, Punk/MJF aftermath, more info on ROH acquisition, follow-up on Regal uniting Moxley and Bryan. And Jeff Hardy is supposedly gonna be backstage too.

An Invasion angle?

Not sure, I hope not yet. Invasion angles are really tough to book.

How would they run a promotion angle if they didn’t acquire anyones contract?

Besides they don’t have a fan base. Nobody cares about ROH except the people who already watch AEW

AEW has a packed roster, and Tony had already had talks with some of ROH’s top stars(Gresham, Briscoes, etc.). My understanding is it will moreso run as a developmental promotion. Tony Khan essentially answered some questions by asking the reporters if they liked old NXT, how it was and could have been used.

Please stay away from invasion angles.

Cat’s out the bag now so I’ll post these from Revolution:

and this from the media scrum:
