Goof luck @Ocke - hope it all goes well. Trust and respect are two key components of happy employees, imo. Micromanaging isn’t good for anyone, and often more costly. Whilst turning a profit is important, there’s more to a business, especially one that offers dental, medical, education and the like.
Curious do people have retirement age goals they don’t want to work beyond ?
I really don’t want to work beyond the age of 60, so in my mind I’ve got 26.5 years or so to sort it out.
Nah I don’t have any age goals, just salary/net worth goals but nothing set in stone or truly defined.
Just a general level that I’d like to attain at some point in life, but for the most part it just culminates in “having a very comfortable retirement”.
Basically my pension plan doesn’t completely fuck me over once I’ve hit 63. Conscious that many don’t have a pension plan so don’t want that to sound like a complaint but it is what it is.

Jesus Dave that’s just a few years shy of life expectancy.
It’s perhaps when my (state) pension will kick in in the UK anyway
Shifting goalposts quicker than you can say “heat allowance” over here
I’ve been running a side business for over a year now and it’s been taking off and becoming more profitable over the last few months. My ultimate goal is for that to put me in a position to quit working 9-5 permanently and ultimately work on my own terms.
I want to be able to move around the world and take my work with me (which is easy because it’s entirety online based) so ultimately I think I’d be able to work for as long as I still have a passion and enjoyment for it.
Im dreaming of 60 and could with luck just make that.
Four years off but my daughter be 14 then . Just not sure.
Mortgages done so that’s my ace. Lap of the Gods though.
There’s no way that social security (the American social pension system for retirees) will exist by the time I’m old enough to claim benefits so basically I’ve got two choices, stay in a government job and try to last until I can claim a government worker’s pension at 64 or pursue other opportunities and put money in a 401k which is kind of scary to me.
I don’t know if retiring at 60 is doable if people are living another 20-25 years. The scariest thing for me is running out of money as a senior citizen. In a perfect world I could stop working full time by 60, dabble in legal work to goose my income and take long vacations to places to hike and explore … or maybe just drink? IDK how fit I’ll be at 60.
There’s why you don’t buy the Hokas or the footy shirts.
:bellcry:
But I gotta have swag Stroller. You understand, right? Can’t show up at the Turkey Trot 5k in all white New Balance sneakers. If you look good, you run good.
Hopefully never. Retirement is death.
I’m sure Wenger said this too, lol
Seeing everyone’s posts here is now making me feel anxious about my retirement, don’t need that in my life on a random Monday night, I’m out lads. Bye.
Though I expect I’ll likely die of something before I hit retirement age anyway, so that’s kind of comforting. In a way.
And about 12 years below where is already is

Sorry @JakeyBoy, scrambling around getting ready for work on a Monday morning whilst trying to watch Arsenal Vs Leicester got me thinking… then Vardy scores a smash and grab and I’m in a cunt of a mood to start off the working week .
