Well, the risk wasn’t even worth it because he didn’t look really on it today.
We looked vulnerable quite a few times when defending and he’s supposed to be leading that backline.
Looked a bit shaky but needed the minute in his legs. Great to see him back. Next game, we should 3 of THE back four starting.

Can’t remember which game it was but he made head first contact and pen was given to the opponents.
Got lucky today, on another day it would have easily been a pen for Everton.

I was surprised it wasn’t to be honest. As soon as I saw that CAR graph I was shitting myself. It shouldn’t have been and thankfully the refs didn’t screw us.
Serves Everton fans right for all the penalty shouts as soon as the ball entered our box. It got silly at one point.
I was convinced they were gonna give that, which would have been a nonsense, because ultimately it’s just a duel that Saliba loses by a fraction of a second, that looks far worse on a slow-mo replay for the viewers watching on the telly.

Focus on the way Barry decided to fall. He is fully standing on two feet but chooses to dive to the ground when he realises there was some contact. Would have been a BS penalty and I was 100% sure they would give it.

The amount of times that frame was replayed trying to spin it into something against Saliba was fucking wild btw. William is looking at the ball the entire time and Barry from France is holding his head?!
Nice pass into Gyökeres btw but some absolutely whack balls into the middle from Saliba.

Love Gabriel, but there is no doubt Saliba is the bigger talent. He’s immense. One of the most talented CBs of the last 15 years surely.

Thought he was a bit to eager to walk with the ball into midfield. Didn’t do anything wrong, but it slowed us down and made spaces tighter in some instances.
Had to be a tactical decision by Arteta. Gabriel was doing something similar on the opposite side pushing up high on the left.
