Ruined his legacy imo.
God we missed that in the last month and a half of last season. Fuck.
Hopefully with Timber in the squad, we have good cover in case injury strikes again.
the second our defender fumbled the ball, Saliba already reacted immediatly.
Good concentration and reaction.
The rest, we know what he can do.
so confident and comfortable with the ball, no panic
Love him
Everyone makes mistakes…
But if you compare him to Maguire, it is greatness and shitness.
Wouldn’t look out of place in the Invincibles team. That level of class.
Not yet imo.
How not? He’s clearly a very talented defender and would have comfortably at least been the 3rd CB at the club.
He could compete with Toure for a place, who wasn’t qualified to play for the Invincibles tbf.
He had a couple of outstanding seasons though I’ll give him that. Never recovered from the bout with malaria and is sadly remembered for the shaky post malaria form more than his brutal best.
He was a powerhouse
GC is a well known Saliba critic ;).
Imo he was at his best in 2005/06 and in 2006/07, as far as I can remember.
Way too raw in 2004. Although he did brilliant considering that was his first season ever to play as a CB.
Absolutely wild from Wenger to take that decision and make him a starter in that team. Worked well in the long run, but I still wish we had a better defender next to Sol between 2003-2005.
Yep, loved his raw strength and power. Used to dominate almost anyone despite not being too big. Along with his pace it was almost impossible to beat him one on one.
Someone who could head woulda been great
Sorry, I got that as the first XI unless I’ve got that wrong @Midfield_Maestro.
For me Campbell and Toure are still there, Saliba or Gabriel could change that this season but right now I don’t think they’re just there yet.
