What was the last film you watched?

Jurassic World Rebirth

:poop::poop::poop:

Nobody 2 - no where near the level of the first film

Peaky Blinders film on Netflix.

Incredible, what a way to spend nearly two hours on a Saturday night.

Across the Spiderverse, and it pissed me the fuck off.

2 hours and 20 minutes of story and build up, and just when I’m ready for the ending, they hit us with the ā€œthis will be continued in the next filmā€

There’s lots I was enjoying about the film up to that point, but I feel they dropped the ball and all I can think about now is the lack of plot resolution.

Real shame, as Into the Spiderverse is, for my money, the best Spider-Man film ever.

Yea I feel like this is why the second film basically got only a fraction of the love the first one did. It’d be one thing if there was like a month between releases or something like that but 4 years… fuck sake.

Turned to my wife at the end and was like, ā€œwell, at least we’re really late in watching this, the third one must be out this year rightā€

Quick google reveals its due in June 2027 ffs.

At least I am three years late to watching it cos holy shit.

Would love to know why they went with the ending they did. We have plenty of evidence from the MCU and other superhero films that you can give a film a satisfying conclusion while generating hype for the future sequel/wider universe.

Batman Begins had a satisfying conclusion to the Scarecrow story and Batman’s origins, and then right before the credits they have Batman and Gordon on the roof, and Gordon tells him there’s a new criminal in town, says ā€œhe has a calling cardā€, hands over a Joker card, screen cuts to black, we lose our shit. Job done, all bases covered.

It’s genuinely not hard.
